wipers kept stoping. eventually quit working totally.96 ram 1500

Q: my wipers over the past few months started cutting out. sometimes it would stop midway on the windsheild and sometimes i would try to turn on and nothing would happen but i would hear clicks from down near relays. i checked the fuse it is good. i pushed and pulled on some wires gently going to and from the wiper relay to motor and to switch. well they dont work at all now. do i need a new relay or is it a short or the wiper motor i have a few other minor electrical problems too. when i accelerate heavily the heater fan cuts out and when i let off it starts up again. is this a completely separate problem a short merry christmas to all and a happy new year. thanks sean charles altanta .
