Q: its not just dealships. firestone ripped me off too. i was in florida and my rf axel went. i went to firestone because there is one near my house in nj. i paid cash which was a huge mistake. they put the wrong one in it. my van has abs they installed one without the abs star. when i got back to jersey and took it to my dealer to find out why my abs light was on after the axel was put in he wouldnt do it. he said it would be $30 to look at it and give me an estimate on repair. when i asked about the firestone warranty he said there really isnt any unless they did the work on site. the counter guy told me there really isnt any firestone national warranty. i took the car back to miami and they gave me the we will call you when the guy gets here who can authorize us to look at it routine. thats the same bs i got from them when i called numerous times after i got back to jersey. of course they never called back. along with avoiding the rt22 dodge dealership im avoinding all firestone stores and have advised all my friends and relatives to avoid them too. on the positive side ditmire motors in absecon nj does excellent work at reasonable prices so i can recommend him to anyone in the area. his speciality is mercedes. mike .

the brand name escapes me now but there is a brand of slider hitch that moves back automatically so you dont have to fuss with it. if the op is interested i can do alittle research and come up with the company name. i think its the pullrite superglide... at about $2400. eek! .

hi i installed a class 3 hitch on my 94 carevan le so i can take my boat to florida. this will be a one way trip. its supposed to be good up to 3500 pounds. one guy posted here recently that the transmissons in caravans arent all that great and if you tow with one dont use overdrive which mine has. that makes sense to me but then i thought if the engine is reving higher along with a heaverier load from pulling the trailer the engine oil would get hotter than normal. if im right about that should i install an auxillary engine oil cooler or am i just being paranoid can anybody recommend one thanks mike. .
