Q: youre hearing the high pressure hi-side going thru the expansion valve and equalizing the pressure after shut-down greetings -- ive a 2001 dodge ram 2500 cummins with 52000 miles and i have had no a/c for about a month. the compressor cycles on and off every 6 seconds or so so i figured i lost some r13a coolant. bought a small 12oz can recharge kit recharged as directed on the only connector the can would connect to not the line that is leaking which is the line running high in the engine compartment on the passenger side next to the fender that fitting was too big. 1 did i refill at the wrong line i refilled at the fitting behind the air filter which was the only fitting which was small enough to accept the fitting on the refill can. 2 after refilling i immediately got cold ac but when i turned the engine off i heard a hissing. the leak sounds to be coming from under the air filter where the assumed high pressure line runs to the dryer from the front of the truck. a lot of water droplets had accumulated on that line and there was a puddle inside under the air filter. i couldnt feel gas escaping but the hiss was definitely coming from under the air filter from the line thats covered with aluminum foil. id like to know if thats the high or low pressure line. nothing blew up so i assume i filled at the right port. 3 i assume ill have no ac in the morning what with the leak -- or is there perhaps an overflow fitting under the air cleaner which will release enough refrigerant until the system is stabilized rather i bet the metal line is pinholed underneath the aluminum foil and dumdum that encapsulates the line under the air filter. pisses me off ive got a 1980 mercedes 240d which still blows cold after 26 years. 4 assuming that line is holed and assuming that line is the high-pressure line ill probably have to take it to a shop to be replaced the system evacuated and tested for leaks and recharged. i figure around $200. is this common for that metal line to hole itself i dont do any off-roading and just drive on flat paved roads. why would an aluminum pipe like that get a hole is there another bridge-connector under the air filter and is it possible that connection is leaking thanks for any info regarding this matter. please respond to ramacnospamopsimath.org and replace the nospam with @ thanks again. -k .

i had until tonight a 2001 1/2 ton ram qc. i hit #1 a telephone pole dead center #2 a culvert which flipped me on my drivers side #3 another culvert while sideways slid across a driveway and #4 a pine tree. after the truck stopped then and only then did the airbags pop. over two years ago i had a kid in an a 95 z28 camaro uninsured turned left in front of me as i entered the intersection. i was driving my 2000 gmc sierra 4x4. after i took the camaros front end off i was deflected into a 98 cavalier. i hit her and launched it over 100 down the ditch along the road. the driver was unhurt but had to be cut out as the car was tweaked enough that the doors couldnt be opened. i barely hit a light pole and blam there go the air bags as i stopped. the whole wreck took less than three lanes 1 turn and 2 travel lanes start to finish 50+mph to 0 in about two truck lengths. lots of negative gs. it happens to all makes of trucks and cars not just dodge. i was the only one hurt. of course. the truck was never the same and i traded it for a 2003 hemi ram. the only thing i dont like better than the sierra is the gas milage. 11-12 vs 13-15 bdk i saw some pix of a guy in a honda he fell asleep at the wheel and hit the sign in front of the freeway onramp this 4x4 post was enough to deploy the air bags and wake up the driver but the post was not strong enough to stop the car... the traffic light pole about ten feet later was enough to stop the car dead in its tracks but the airbags were already deployed... i believe he fell back asleep at that point never to wake again. .

bumblebobbie barbiegirl000@hotmail.com wrote i have an electrical short but not sure where it is coming from. youve come to the right place! we can help you remove your shorts. seriously... you may have had a short at one time but now you have an open. shorts usually blow fuses which causes an open and melt wires. opens usually just make things not work. all myguages arent working. alerts on my dash are on such as fuel even with a full tank and brake light is on even when brake is not. radio light is on but radio doesnt work and neither do any of the buttons. my upper gauge for temp dte extra odometer...lights are on but guages dont work. any electrical trauma to the truck lately such as got a jump start gave a jump start left lights on and ran down the battery but the truck just barely turned over and started tried to tow a trailer and the trailer lights didnt work snagged your toe on a wire bundle under the dash is there any aftermarket electrical equipment installed like a stereo dvd alarm remote starter etc fuses are all ok. how did you test with a test light or just by looking at the fuses looking at the fuses can work if you pull each one out of its socket and look at it with a strong light. if youre just looking at the fuses while installed its easy to miss a blown one. also make sure you find all the fuse boxes... sometimes theres one under the hood and one in the dash. your owners manual will say for sure. if you want to test with a test light the best kind for this is the kind that looks like an ice pick with a wire coming out of it. first pop the hood put the alligator clip on the battery negative terminal and poke the pick at the battery positive terminal. if the test light doesnt light up the test light is bad. if it does light up first check any fuses in the engine compartment. most fuses that are 30 a and under will have a couple of metal spots on the face of the fuse. to test you leave the alligator clip on the test light connected to ground like the battery negative terminal or a bare metal bolt that goes into the engine block or body and poke the pick at each metal spot in turn. if both spots makes the test light light up that fuse is good. if only one spot makes the test light light up that fuse is bad. if neither spot makes the test light light up that circuit doesnt have power at the moment and you cant draw any conclusions about that fuse. usually you need to turn something on ignition key headlights a/c and try that fuse again. if you do find a blown fuse replace it with a fuse of the same current rating and try again. if it doesnt blow right away keep an eye on it. every once in a while a fuse blows because its tuesday but theres usually a good reason. if it does blow again right away you either need to chase the things that are powered from that fuse or get assistance. if you dont find any blown fuses probably the next thing to look for is loose connectors. start under the hood then go under the dash... as much as you can reach by taking off the trim panels over your toes. anyplace there is a wire connector try to push the two halves together. if it moves and goes click when you do that it was loose. if it moves but doesnt go click inspect it carefully... most connectors have plastic locking tabs and one of them may have broken off. if this has happened sometimes a carefully-applied zip tie will keep the connector together. also take a look at the individual wires immediately outside each connector. they probably disappear into a plastic tube or under electrical tape pretty quickly but usually you can see a little of the wire. if you can see the wire make sure it doesnt look burnt or charred. sometimes a pin in a connector goes bad which makes the connection heat up and melt the wire insulation. follow the big bundles of wire around to make sure they arent lying on anything hot or moving. dont freak out if you find some connectors with nothing plugged into them. some of them are for test purposes and some of them are for options your truck doesnt have. good luck! matt roberds .
