Q: on tue 03 oct 2006 235411 +0000 theguy wrote i dont know what it is. i really dont. if it was just one or two things i would hope that we could have fixed it by now but maybe not. there was one study so far that found that kids that watched wrestling the hokey tv version were more likely to act-out violently. parents are frequently letting the tv set be the baby sitter - so think of the garbage they are seeing. this may be extreme but if we forced tv stations off the air for 12 hours a day id bet there would be a measurable decline in violence. in video games - we now have a video game now where kids can practice killing cops. what do you think is going to be the logical conclusion of this exercise basically there are no *enforced* ratings on these video games. im told that kids can pretty much get just about any level of violence they want. as you pointed out this is a complex problem but clearly video games and videos are a part of the problem. we had better act soon if we want to maintain our liberties and constitutionally guaranteed rights. i have a feeling the window of opportunity is closing fast. sometimes i think i am seeing the last bald eagle. sad to say you may be right. .
