Q: i have a 1998 dodge 1500 ram p/u with a standard 318 engine. does any 1 know what the safe towing weights r for this size motor and does towing with a 5th wheel help the weight thanks david .

you need to give more information such as 2x4 or 4x4 rear axle ratio and auto or standard trans. the tongue weight will be 700 lbs max either way. the 5th wheel has no effect on max trailer weight the truck can tow it only allows for a greater tongue weight. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving i have a 1998 dodge 1500 ram p/u with a standard 318 engine. does any 1 know what the safe towing weights r for this size motor and does towing with a 5th wheel help the weight thanks david .
