max wrote miles so far my thought on google groups is that they kinda suck. any pointers not really. a usenet feed and a good reader is far easier to use than google groups. but google did improve it greatly. it used to take 3 to 4 days for posts to show up on usenet. now it seems almost instant. someone needs to make a front end program that allows access to google with a similar gui to a typical reader. id make such a program but google would change its website faster than i could keep up! .

you would probably be buying a catalytic convertor at that time glenn beasley chrysler tech. my 1993 dakota passed the ohio emissions test but just barely. the hc co and co2 were well in the safe range but the no showed 776.1 ppm where the limit is 778 ppm. i hope to keep this vehicle for a number of years and i am wondering what i need to do for before the next inspection in february 2006. thanks dlc .

calvin i have seen this problem before. in fact several times and in my experience the fault has always been vibration and flex. the bolts are probably failing because of metal fatigue. this is detectable by closely examining the failure point on the bolts. then you need to look very carefully at the entire assembly not just the failed bolts for the cause. it could be as simple as a missing strut or arm. steve hi all had a 98 dakota that had 200000 miles on it that i loved. needed a catalytic converter + to get thru state inspection so decided to trade it. bought another dakota an 04 with a 3.7 liter. would be happy with the truck if a could get this one problem figured out. after 12000 miles the bolts holding the power steering unit to the engine block snapped. got truck to the dealership and they thought maybe the bolts had been over torqued so basically they just fished the broken pieces out of the engine block and put in new bolts. 10000 miles later the bolts snap again. dont believe dealership has any idea whats going on. anyone out there had similar experience or some idea whats happening are these just aluminum bolts can i get better bolts is the engine block aluminum which would make steel bolts unwise tia cal .
