bwq@earthlink.net says... check for loose shock mnts proper u-bolt torque worn shackle bushings spare tire/tire tools. does it make noise onlywhen stopping or accelerating what about road conditions another possibly stupid question that i probably already know the answer to. well the spare tire is inside with me bolted to the inside of the van so that would not be the case. i hear it mostly when i hit bumps. i suspect it is where the springs are bolted onto the truck itself. the bolts are all tight as far as i can tell and i have checked them all. the u-bolts on the axle are also so tight i dont think i could get them off if i wanted to. i suspect the shackle bushings personally but they look ok. i have never noticed it make any noises out of the ordinary stopping or starting. cept when my engine mounting bracket broke! wooo! chas .
