slow starting ram

From : Annonymous

Q: hboothe@gte.net says... my viper likes its batteries the two-way remote...responder or whatever they call it. eats one in light use about every two months. --hc hmm thats weird. my last one was almost 3 when i sold the truck and it had the original batts. actually ive never replaced any on any of the 3 starters i have had. this one is going to be two in oct and i bet the batteries will still be the originals.. if only i had that kind of luck with car batteries. ive never had one last 3 years! the last one i tried to stretch out showed no signs of any problems and was so deed it took over an hour with the jumper cables to get it started. i was like 3 years and a month or so... bdk .

ramman@dodgecity.cc wrote by the same token the tree huggers also share some of the blame. just look at how theyve phuqued things up in california. already theres a $1/gallon price differential between cal. and the rest of the us. you left our government out too. why are there no congressional hearings on the fact that oil companies profits during this time keep setting new records everytime theres an increase in what we pay at the pump thats a rhetorical question as i know the oil companies contribute heavily to both political parties congress cannot protect us from our own stupidity. if we are willing to pay the price to fuel oversized vehicles no matter how much it costs then the oil companies can continue to reap in huge profits and well fund their congress. the only ones that can put a stop to it is the american people and we are far to dumb and selfish to do that. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

hi - i figure i have no sense - ive had late eighties s-10 blazers for years bunches of em. had them pretty well figured out - so i had to get a couple of old dakotas to keep from being bored - or something. anyway im back in virgin territory again. my dakota has factory cruise nothing obvious disconnected/corroded. once in a while ill get cruise which looses speed slowly so my first guess is vacuum. before i start tearing it apart i wanted to check if anyone knew anything about these critters. ive had a few vehicles in the past that the cruise control was snitty on - press too fast or release too fast/slow or whatever and it wouldnt work. dont know if its something like that have no owners manual for the last blazer it specifically said release slowly. hoping for the voice of experience thanks. cricket .

maybe it was something as simple as he was back up a hill and some oil went out the blow-by tube getting on the exhaust that would be nice if it was possible. given the position of the blow by tube and the exhaust it is darn near impossible. roy hi all this is my first diesel so pardon me if this is considered normal behavior for my truck. first ... its a 2004 ram with the 305/555 cummins engine. 4wd automatic. i just purchased two seadoos with a double trailer. total weight is approximately 2500 lbs. i pulled them from lake ozark mo to dallas tx last weekend with absolutely no trouble. in fact i pulled them in overdrive all of the way and the tranny never hunted one time. i dropped them off to be serviced and picked them back up last night. i was backing them into my storage facility which is a complete bitch to do. firstly i am backing them uphill around a corner. i had to start straightening out at which point i have to ride up on a curb with my driver front tire. rpms were up pretty good to accomplish this. i finally got everything where it should be and i smelled a burning smell. smelled like hot oil. i glanced at my temp gauge and it was up a little higher and usual ... just over the halfway mark 200. i unhooked the trailer and went for a spin down the road to cool things back down. my question is what was burning the tranny it might have been. backing up can send the trans temp right off the scale. try useing low range if possible next time. roy craig c. .

had the tune-up about a year ago and it has about 110k on it. i hadnt run any cleaners through it because i was under the impression that 99% of the stuff sold was not any good. or am i thinking of the wrong stuff at the parts store tbone wrote when was the last time it had a tune-up and have you run any injection cleaner through it how many miles are on it -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving ive got a 97 ram with the 5.2 engine and it takes about 4 or 5 seconds to get it started. i replaced the fuel pump about 6 months ago so im sure it gets plenty of fuel pressure. where do i need to start looking to figure out what is keeping it from starting quickly when i first got the truck it would take just a quick turn of the key to get going. thanks. .
