Q: no sweat..... fuggetaboutit! mike ive stirred a hornets nest here by my own doing. i asked an unethical question and was rightly slammed for it. i made things worse by challenging eveyones integrity and thinking the issue was no big deal by making excuses. im actually pleased that there is still a lot of honesty out there. im the new owner of my first dodge pickup after having three f-150s. i find that usenet groups are a valuable source of info and i dont want to be a pariah here from the get go. by being an ass from the get go please accept this apology to the group and i ask for a second chance. thanks keith t. .

two or four wheel abs -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving hi gang i own an 1998 doge ram 1500 4x4 52000 miles. just had rotors pads etc done about 50000 miles. i come out of work and i hardly had any brakes. pedal near floor abs and brake light on. drive home about 10 miles and the last stop before i get home full brakes. i pulled into my yard and shut the truck off restarted and no brake or abs light and full brakes no pedal fade. checked the master cylinder and it is full. by the way the weather was very cold. any ideas thanks to all in advance john .

no they didnt rob me. but its the principle of the matter. my truck is used for light duty so i follow schedule a and the rear axle service is not mentioned in that schedule for 12000 miles. i told him that. but he went on to say that the resale value would be lower if i didnt have this service performed in short he tried to pressure me into the service. and i did elect not to have the service performed but what about the poor soul who is mechanically challenged all that person has to depend on is the honesty of the shop. i truly believe this guy was testing me to see how much i knew about a vehicle. i hope im wrong not only wrong but overreacting. bowza how did they rob you the advisor pointed out that the maintenance schedule called for servicing the rear axle which you confirmed in your owners manual after you returned home. did they lie to you did they charge you for a service they didnt perform did they try to sell you something that wasnt recommended by the manufacturer if you have a problem with the recommendation of a 12k axle service take it up with the engineers at d/c not the dealer. the service advisor was just doing his job and after all it is your truck you can elect to follow the maintenance schedule or not. chryco service manager member sae i just got my 02 ram 1500 serviced this morning and i think its a shame the way you have to watch the dealerships they will pick you clean if you let them. i believe in changing the oil every 3000 miles and the spark plugs at 30000 and even the transmission fluid at 30000 but the rear axle fluid every 15000 is where i draw the line. the guy wouldnt even look me in the eye when i called him on it. i came home and looked at my manual and found it in the schedule b and it said 12000 if your gonna rob someone at least get the scam right. this is the first dodge ive owned and im very happy with it so far but i think i need to find a better dealership or at least one that is selling a lot of vehicles so they wont have to make up the difference in the service department. i may be overreacting just a little but so dont pay too much attention to me lol .

nathan collier wrote to make a long story short the wifey had an absolute fit when i started to agree to accept $23500 for my rubicon. said we would keep it for haley before giving it away so it looks like the rubicon is a keeper since it only appears to be worth anything to us. ill still be getting the diesel but only after we get passed this coming tax season. in the meantime i happened across a retired 76 m880 1 1/4 ton dodge 4x4 with 41000 original miles for $1000 and i couldnt walk away from it. the v8/tranny/full time 4x4 transfer case also with low lock and even high lock/dana 70 rear/dana 60 front @4.10 gears will work out perfectly under a cj7/8 project jeep. pics of the beast are at http//7slotgrille.com/forum/topic.asptopicid=967 im not really sure if id rather shorten the frame of this truck and adapt a cj body to it or transplant the running gear over on the cj but either way there is much fun to come. ......the wife had to gasp for breath when she saw it parked in our yard. i guess the camouflage isnt working. .

rick; this would be a good example of the psychology so to speak of course that exists on this ng. a seemingly normal statement is made then a regular such as mini max responds with a sophomoric simple minded and ludicrous answer that has no bearing or foundation in the prior discusion. the regulars will all support these statements like this one from mini max and laugh as if you were the one that wrote the idiotic rambling rather than one of thier own. the psychology is interesting. they really dont like each other all that well but they the regulars identify so strongly with this ng that they have to support any other regular because to fail to do so would be to fail to support their own identity. now for mini max. i wouldnt take him too seriously. mini max is just a little handicapped and this is the only way that he can try to get attention. i feel sorry for him. i am sure that he is bitter about his condition and full of great ideas about what he could have been and what he could have achieved if he had just been given a brain. mini max what would you have done with a brain if you had been given one mr. theguy could you define who a regular is ive noticed over the years that you have posted in here numerous times but by this post it sounds like you dont include yourself as a regular. do you have to post x amount of times to be regular do you have to eat x amount of fibre to become regular or am i just being irregular i wonder............................ denny denny daguy has become the ng critic. gives him somthing to do. actually he adds to the entertainment value imog roy see my reply to mike. well find out if ole pivot has a sense of humor. denny i just wanna find out if im a regular or an irregular. if its the latter i gotta start eatin more fiber! ^ mike .

had the same problem this week with the cold weather - master cylinder seals were distorting due to the cold. garage changed seals - no problems - blamed it on temperature extremes you can be the judge on this one! .
