rollover valve on fuel pump

Q: i installed my new fuel pump and it runs fine. only with removing the old one i broke the little hose pillar of the rollover valve. do i have to worry about that theres no gas coming out. the hose goes to some canister at the drivers side. peter 96 dodge ram 1500 v8 5.2 .

that is also the tank vent line. the canister on the drivers side is the carbon canister and traps fuel vapors between purge cycles. while no liquid fuel will come out of it fuel vapor will. iirc it is a federal emissions requirement that this system be operational so the vent tube should be repaired. it might even generate a service code during a purge cycle if this line is not connected. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving i installed my new fuel pump and it runs fine. only with removing the old one i broke the little hose pillar of the rollover valve. do i have to worry about that theres no gas coming out. the hose goes to some canister at the drivers side. peter 96 dodge ram 1500 v8 5.2 .
