Q: fearless fred wrote noticed this morning that when i turn on the ignition im getting a chime code of 6 chimes a pause then 2 chimes. the first 6 chimes is the seat-belt reminder. put your seat-belt on before turning the key on and it should go away. two chimes after the pause means you have an advisory light on the dash lit up. the check gauges or low fuel indicator light have set the double chimes on my 99 ctd. -- ken .

might be helpful if you included pertinent details on the truck youre talking about... my wipers stopped the other day. i started at the switch and worked my way up to the motor i am pretty sure the problem is in the motor itself but it might be the intermittent control module. i dont know how to test that though and hoping one of you might have some insight. this is why i think the switch is ok - the switch still works for the washer pump press down on this switch from any position. - when moving the switch into any of the on positions i can hear the intermittent controller click. i think the control arms and linkages are ok because the arms cant be moved. if the intermittent controller can be called good because it clicks can it thats one question then the problem is likely at the motor or between the ic and the motor. what i could use here are the electrical test procedures for the intermittent controller and the wiper motor harness. id love to get lucky and find out its just brushes rk .

when i purchased my 2007 dakota quad cab i was assured by the dealership that it was ample to tow my short & light 5th wheel camper. im now being told by a number of rv supplers that they dont make a 5th wheel hitch for that year dakota because of a design issue with the bed. any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks. i tow lots of trailers and campers. in my experience most fifth wheel campers are actually pretty big. my question is what size camper do you have and does it have slide outs etc. my next question is what engine and transmission package does your truck have i own two dakotas and i wouldnt even consider towing any camper over 18 ft. with them. in fact that would only be in an emergency and no more than far enough to get the camper across town. the crux is not whether or not the truck will pull the camper but will it stop it or keep it stable in a big cross wind. i have seen a good cross wind flip more than one camper that was tied to 3/4 ton and bigger trucks. i was pulling a trailer on my 2500 hitting speeds of 90 on i-10. i later broke down and had my brother-in-law come and get the trailer in his 05 surburban. he would hit 65 and the trailer would start swaying very badly. michael .
