Q: jim rozen wrote youre putting the cart before the horse. i and many people i know have never gotten traffic tickets in our lives. dont speed signal before changing lanes feed the meter and follow the few other simple regulations out there and youll be fine. well thats crap. like the time the ny port authority set me a ticket for taking my bike through an ezpass lane on the lincoln tunnel. the bikes never been though there ever. took about a year to clear that one up. so your premise sir is complete canal water. or the time i flashed my lights to warn oncoming traffic of a speed trap and was ticketed for doing so. not you notice for speeding myself because i was not doing so. but the cop knew at the time the ticket would not stand up because in ny it is not illegal to do this. yet he wrote it anyway. 99% of police activity is done to generate revenue. its hardly at all about highway safety they never ticket for tailgating or for driving like a moron. they cannot quantify that but the radar gun has a readout directly in dollars dont you know. so they set up the speed traps each month in the same place at the same times. and they always catch a netfull of cash each time. so yep keep yer nose clear and walk the line - and some cop having a bad day will write you up for some imagined offense. its all about being in charge. theyre in charge. yep they are the true kings of the roads. forget about those lions in africa which only hunt for food and must do a lot of chasing. well these got the prey cornered and ready to eat. .
