Q: i have a 95 b2500 van 318ci which hasnt been putting out proper heat since i had the radiator flushed and thermostat changed in the spring. this morning it was in the low 50s and i put on the defroster. it put out cool iar instead of hot then it started blowing cold air and i noticed the temp gauge head up to the high end toward very hot. i switched to heat and the temp began to drop towards cold and the it began to climb again to midrange which is way beyond where it normally resides. it usually stays at the 1/4 hash mark when all is running well. i turned off the controls for heat and it ran well. what can it be what needs to be chaned thanks barry .

much more expensive. -- ..bob 1997 hd fxdwg - turbocharged! 2001 dodge dakota qc 5.9/4x4/3.92 1983 gmc jimmy - mountain beater 1966 mustang coupe - daily driver 1966 ffr cobra - ongoing project . 222 290612 hzadnd-sbba2p7crvn-sw@fidnet.com hi i am in the market for my first diesel. i currently own a 2002 ram 1500 360 cid. and have loved everything about it except the fuel economy. i have a few questions for those of you that own a cummins. i will be purchasing a 4x4 quad cab. 1 i drive 140 miles per day. about 80 hwy and 60 city. i have heard all manner of b.s. regarding the mpg i can expect. i have heard from as low as 15 mpg to 24 mpg i dont believe this for a second mainly because it came from the dealer. i dont drive like a maniac but i dont drive like granny either. what is reasonable to expect i live in dallas texas btw. mostly flat. i am averaging about 19.5 mpg which is a combination of city/highway driving. this is with an 03 ho ctd 48re 3.73 rear axle. the 6-speed may offer a slight improvement. 2 the dealer also told me that the automatic did not get any better milage than the 6-speed. i find this difficult to believe. what is the difference in mpg between the trannys see above 3 right now dodge is offering 1000.00 cash back until 11/1/2004. are the factory rebates towards the end of the year usually more than this the rebates are based upon the unsold stock in dealer inventory and projected plant capacity. also included in the equation is what the competition ford gm is offering. you can wait for something better or take you $1k and run. hope this info helps! chryco service manager member sae thanks craig c. .

im curious as to why no drilling in alaska do you live there i am trying to purchase some land there now actually. but no at this instant i live in dallas and have no vested interest in alaska other than trying to keep the greedy oil companies out. aha a nimby in the making . . .not in my back yard the amount of oil under alaska is not worth the time to drill for it and definately not worth the environmental destruction it causes. the solution ... is to get off of fossil fuel and try to save our land ... dare i say it ... for future generations. craig c. sorry craig but your completely deceived. first theres enough oil under the north shore alone to supply us needs completely for 5000 years secondly our civilization is too dependent on it to ever give up oil and third read my reply to jeff and think about how many oil based products you use yourself then multiply that by 3/4 of the world population. it will be drilled someday even if its your kids that beg for it. -- budd pres. bush john kerry has changed his position on the iraq war so many times he could debate himself. b.c. and lose. .

i have a 98 dodge dakota and was wondering what kind of shocks i should get brand. i have been told by some that monroe and gabriel are 2 of the best but i have been told by others that they dont last long. i also read that it would be best to buy new oem shocks from a dealer because they should last the original warranty period or longer but they cost more than aftermarket shocks. i plan to run this truck until it dies so i want the shocks to last a good while. i only use it for going back and forth to work and the occasional side trip. i almost never go off road and if i do its just an open field or something. so anyway any help would be appreciated. cost doesnt matter i just need to know how actual drivers would rate them. thanks. kevin .

the point is tom you dont like it when it happens to you but think its just hunky dory for you to do it . . .a classic liberal double standard. no different than your conservative one. i see a bunch of difference for one thing when i butt into one of your threads its usually called damage control. when you do it its usually flaming. sit on it and spin. lol you really need to get out of the sixtys dude are you trying to claim youre too big for a sit and spin -- budd pres. bush john kerry has changed his position on the iraq war so many times he could debate himself. b.c. and lose. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

nosey wrote i found this blurb in an article about the 2004 ram 1500 at http//trucks.about.com/od/2004dodgetrucks/a/041500ram.htm a tow/haul feature that provides crisper shifts and reduces gear searching when towing. the system will select a lower gear in downhill conditions to best utilize the engines braking capability. i can see why you wouldnt notice a difference during normal light driving. i dont see the use of lower gears in downhill conditions. it holds 5th gear and i have to use alot of brakes to keep my speed down. .
