plastic on bumpers 1997
From : carl wesser
Q: once they have faded the only thing you can do is to re-dye them. griots garage makes a good plastic dye that comes in a shoe polish like applicator that works pretty slick. www.griotsgarage.com . once you re-dye them a periodic application of 303 protectant will keep em looking like new. the black trim on my 97 br still looks like the day it left the showroom. hope this helps! chryco service manager member sae how do you keep the bumpersplastic a dark color tried silicon tire spray turns grey in a short time. thank you carl / dee northernalabama .

hey sawers what denny suggests is a good choice and a good way to check where the problem is. you could also just try cleaning the contacts on the oil pressure sending unit where the cable plugs into it. its not as good as using the manual gauge to be sure but it could be quicker and easier as a test. if you wanted to always be 100% sure you could simply install a t from the block where the factory pressure sender is and run both the factory pressure sensor and the after-market mechanical gauge. fwiw --hc .

fwiw i concur with bobs suggestions. you might also ask any local installer or the corporation directly if no one installs line-x over there what their recommendations are you cant be the only person in england with a line-x bed; somebody must have a first-hand experience with that problem. i still think what bob has suggested is excellent tho and if the line-x bedliner cant hanlde a little mildew remover and some bleach then its probably not gonna protect it from any really nasty stuff anyway. hth take care. --hc .
