tbone wrote lol please show me where in the constitution it states that you have the right to operate a motor vehicle. the 10th amendment plus the lack of an enumerated power to prohibit driving. galts right. one *does* have the right to operate a motor vehicle. however in order to drive it *on government-owned and operated highways* as authorized in art. i sec. 8 - post roads you do have to abide by their regulations. your constitutional right to operate a motor vehicle pretty much applies only on private property where you have permission to do so. -- c.r. krieger been there; read that .

hammer and chisel. should spin right off once you back it off a half turn or so. thats the method ive seen used for a long time whena socket could not be found. ive also built sockets for large nuts like that by using thick sheetmetal taking a measurement of one flat and bending the sheet metal into a hex or octogon and welding the open edge. cap it with a piece of flat metal and weld a 1 nut on the center of the flat. done right it will remove all but the tightest nut. and its cheap except for time input. max life liberty and the pursuit of any jackass that threatens it. embellished usnavy slogan .

i work at my local parts store and had a guy come in today working on a 98 1 ton cummins truck. he had broken his slave cylinder and needed a new one only our 2004 wagner books show the last year available to be the 94-97 group for a diesel. i ordered it in to take a look at it. everything from 97 on back all show a slave with a 1 bore. his 98 that he brought in measures at 20mm. other than the bore size they both had the same mounting points and rod length. he went ahead and took it and was going to try and make it work as he said dodge would only sell him as a complete kit - cl. mc/sc combo for $250. only thing he and i could think of is there may not be enough force/pressure to fully release the clutch.....i remember the discussions faintly in here about different bore sizes of the brake mc and their effects on the pedal feel and braking....i assume somewhat that this is true of the clutch setup as well. just wondering if we were correct in thinking the larger bore slave might work... thanks mike the larger bore master cylinder will cause an increase in pedal effort and provide more stroke in the slave cylinder. going from 20mm to 1 25.4mm i dont know how much more. the main concern would be too much slave cylinder travel -- possibly causing the release levers if a borg & beck cover in the clutch cover to contact the disc or if a diaphragm cover over-centering the diaphragm. bryan .
