1976 dodge m880 w200 4x4 w/318. it ran strong but had a miss in it. i replaced the plugs/cap/rotor and it did the same thing. while replacing the plug wires i noticed that 2 were reversed dont remember which 2 now. installed the new wires counter clockwise on the distributor 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 and now the truck runs like total crap. i rechecked the firing order following each wire by hand. i had my neighbor check it the truck is wired 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 yet it barely runs now. the only possibility i can think of is that they wired it wrong the last time and turned the distributor until it ran its best. any other ideas or possibilities thanks -- nathan w. collier http//7slotgrille.com http//utilityoffroad.com you have the firing order correct but distributors on small blocks turn clockwise ccw on b/rb/hemi engines. bring the engine up to tdc #1 firing note the rotor position and check/correct the wiring. i like to make a mark on the outside of the distributor cap small scratch or permanent marker for #1... so i dont have to repeat the above. bryan .
