need rec's for replacement 318

Q: i have a 95 ram van with a 318 engine and im trying to decide between repair and rip. there is water internal and major blow-by so im guessing it is probably not a rebuild candidate. can anyone recommend a reasonable shop near portland or for replacing thanks. .

dont give up on that 318 so quickly. its a tough engine that can handle a bunch of probs and still come back for more . the only tougher engines are the slant sixes. my suggestion tear it down and check it out before you toss it. it could be nothing more than a ring and bearing r&r and new head gaskets. how many miles are on it that would be a big clue to help you make a decision. a 360 swap requires different motor mount brackets among other things. budd i have a 95 ram van with a 318 engine and im trying to decide between repair and rip. there is water internal and major blow-by so im guessing it is probably not a rebuild candidate. can anyone recommend a reasonable shop near portland or for replacing thanks. .
