lifter rattle? on '98 dakota v6

Q: ive ggot a 98 dakota cc with the v6 bought it with 33k on it and it now has 74k on it. its been a good truck. over the last few months ive noticed that when starting the motor when cold the valve train im pretty sure rattles for about a second or two max. i used the same oil the original owner used mobil 1 synthetic up until about 2 years ago and started using quaker state semi syn and change oil every 4k miles. has anybody else had this lifter noise problem. now that the weather is getting colder you can hear it upon cold start up real well. if anybody has any experience with this id like to hear about it. thanks -terry .
