Q: try replacing the turnsignal switch in the steering wheel. be careful not to setoff the airbag of course. kevin anyone have electrical problems with turn signals my turn signals just decided to stop working normally and flash a couple of times or not at all. if i keep switching on and off they sometimes work normally. i also have a heater core going out. i bought the truck new and it has 76000 miles on it i have replaced the battery and transmission this is getting ridiculous! is this common .

we would need more information. do you have a link to this reader -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving hi ive posted a problem here about my ram2500 that the dealer screwed up. any way i went out and bought a astray code reader very good one helped me fix my 98 diesel jetta. come to find out that dodge did not release info to allow use diy to scan our trucks. is there a reader you can use on this truck. i checked with the manual and it tells me i can get the codes by turning the ignition key on and off several times. im still try to read the blinking engine light.. i found a reader on ebay that says it can read the codes on diesel rams this age. it plugs into the cigarette lighter. any input on this one thanks; dave .

hi howie if its a point-type distributor set the points at 0.015 to 0.016 or 30-35 degrees dwell the more dwell the better. you may need to go as close as 0.014 to get the dwell right. if its electronic ignition the dwell is permanently set at 38 degrees. since its a motorhome set your initial timing at 10-12 degrees before top dead center. the extra ignition lead will give you better starting and easier acceleration. i suggest at least 89 octane fuel. the vacuum advance line goes to a ported vacuum nipple on the right side of the carb holley and carter 2 - barrels about 2/3 of the way up from the bottom. btw you need to block this port when setting your timing as it can affect the advance mechanism. set your idle rpm in drive and warmed up engine to about 650-675 rpm and the cold idle to about 1000-1200. -- budd i have a 1972 motor home built on a d300 chasis. i had to change the distributor and my manual says for timing and dwell to use the info from the engine decal. naturally the decal is long gone if it ever existed. also the vacuum advance hose should it go to the carb fitting below the throttle plate can someone help on the dwell and timing the engine is a 318 with 2 barrel carb and automatic transmission. .

thanks very much...im getting a 21......worked great...now if i can find out what 21 is im ready to roll...heeee one or more o2 sensors isnt reading properly. what kind of engine any changes from stock how about the exhaust how does it run .

really mine grinds unless i am at a complete stop. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving if you for some reason want 4lo then the vehicle must be stopped and probably in neutral or park before shifting it into 4lo. if its an automatic it should be in drive creeping along at 2-3mph. if its a stick it should be rolling at the same 2-3mph with the clutch depressed. shift from 2wd through neutral into 4lo. dont stop in neutral - make it one smooth motion. ditto for coming back from 4lo to 2wd or 4hi. .
