Q: has anyone had problems with their diff they are telling me that i need a whole new diff and because it is one piece i need to replace the axles and everything in the rear end. im only 19 and a girl and i think they are just trying to get my money has anyone had problems with thier truck the corporate 9.25 axle has been a source of some trouble. sometimes depending on labor rate and amount of damage it may be cheaper to replace the entire axle than to repair but more often than not a rebuild can be had cheaper than the entire axle assembly. the axle shafts should rarely be damaged unless the vehicle has been extremely overloaded or wrecked. ive seen 1 case of bent axles and that was a coworkers truck that was spun through a intersection and over a curb -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. .

my last truck was a chevy but castrol 20 w 50 was the only thing that quieted the rod knock more than two days after an oil change. hadnt heard that about quaker sludge oil. id stay with the castrol 20 w 50 if it were my vehicle. why do you bother to ask i someone trying to get you to use something less effective -- christopher a. young you cant shout down a troll. you have to starve them. .. my truck calls for 10w-30 and in florida i dont need to worry about operation below freezing hardly at all. i have been running 20w-50 in most of my trucks because it often sees operation in temperatures above 90 degrees and above 100 in the summer. i know that on startu-up 10w-30 reaches the bearings quicker but wouldnt 20w-50 give it more protection in high heat conditions also i noticed the new 5w-30 oils out there. all data has the 5w-30 listed as an option in my truck. is there any advantage to 5w-30 over the others i would think the thinner oil wouldnt protect as well under harsh conditions like 4 wheeling or towing a trailer. i would appreciate you comments. i currently run castrol 20w-50. i would never use quaker state after rebuilding my fair share of quaker state engines with an inch or two of sludge build up from the parafins in qs. .

ive got a 97 2500 that needs 4 gauges installed. i looking for a sanatary install - something as clean as a factory install. need to keep the dash and left column clear because i dont need any vision interference with my night vision. was thinking maybe these gauges would fit in the cupholder and ashtray areas. any thoughts any recommendations on another location .

thank you thats good to know. i am much the same way lose money putting off a 10 minute job. -- christopher a. young you cant shout down a troll. you have to starve them. .. sorry about that im new to this group posting. there is a rubber seal that sets above the fuel heater that the fuel fitter attaches to. to replace remove your fuel filter then using a wide blade screwdriver remove the threaded insert that the fuel filter attaches to the heater will drop down swap out the gasket $1.90 and snug it back up. i probably wasted $20 in fuel putting off the repair for a 20 minute job. my seal was completely flat and hard so i would imagine most folks are by now i bought the truck new and change the fuel filter every 15k or so i will make sure to resnug this everytime from now on. 92 250 4x4 ctd extended cab 160k on the odometer banks turbo upgrade installed a year ago. 06 3500 4x4 ctd quad cab longbed dually chris lockcuff choctaw oklahoma well tell us what you found please. so we will know what to look for when its our turn. .
