Q: 1978 dodge ramcharger 440 big block automatic transmission 4x4 factory roll bar. straight body not abused or 4 wheeled. full hard-top convertible. dallas area. pics at http//home.comcast.net/rziesk/ i originally noticed this truck in frisco tx near where i work about 3 years before i bought it. one day i saw a 4-sale sign on it and bought it for $1500 from an older guy. it showed just over 100k miles and was used as transportation not a work truck or 4 wheeler. it barely ran but i did get it to run to my house. this was probably about 6-7 years ago. about 3 years ago i located a chrysler specialist who put in a lower mileage 30-40k 440 motor in it. ron of krysler kars kaufman tx. i paid between $1500 and $2000 for that have receipt at house. i then took it to another shop closer to me and had them go through and fix all the issues they could find. they corrected steering slop installed steering stabilizer corrected electrical issues made all guages work replaced heater core etc. i have that receipt as well which was also over $1500. the truck had a little rust on the passenger floorboard due to a sunrooffactory i believe that leaked a bit. this has been corrected with fiberglass at the 2nd shop i sent it to. i purchased the tuffy console that has the stereo compartment in it. these are around $300 and fits between the bucket seats. i have an average blaupunkt cassette stereo for this not installed. the back seat is in good shape but out right now. i have a rubber truck bed mat in the back. i have purchased the correct full rubber floor mat for the front with insulation from jc whitney for about $179 not installed. i just had a maaco paint job applied. the original color was a dull yellow similar to old school busses and the paint they applied is a much brighter yellow that looks good. have receipt at house maybe $500. the truck is stock heighth stock chrome wheels with decent 31 tires... the bucket seats need seat covers or to be replaced. the transmission has a small leak that i hadnt had fixed yet. it is the common bulletproof chrysler trans the 727 i think. the truck runs good drives straight and good and is sooo close to completion. in my opinion these trucks look best with a small lift and 33 tires and the top off which it currently is. i have the hard top which is in good condition. these are very unique and cool trucks much more useful than a jeep with the extra size. over the years i have lost interest in this project and bought another car. i need the garage space back. i have over $6000 invested in this and want out. i will entertain any trade offers clean motorcycles or cars but dont want projects. i lose interest in them and am not good at project cars. i would also accept $2500 cash. shoot me an email at either rziesk@comcast.net or rziesk@texanscu.org if you have any questions or interest in this. i know there are details i forgot to mention... .
