usually i would tell anyone wanting to put on fog lights to go after market. but just tonight coming home i got to thinking as im starring into oncoming vehicles running fog lights on a nice clear night i sure am glad not very many people out there were running good aftermarket lights. my truck had factory fog lights until it was in an accident when i built a new front bumper. i installed aftermarket fog lights the difference was literally night and day. if you are one of those morons who run fog lights all the time do us others a favor leave them off the truck or buy the cheapest ones you can find with the smallest bulb. gary carter on mon 21 jun 2004 rd wrote does anyone know where i can get the fog lights dash switch and all mounting hardware for a 95 1500 4x4 ex cab 5.9 this truck didnt come stock with the lights and now i would like to install them. answer depends on what you want to install. the factory-optional fog lamps are worthless their only value is cosmetic look i have foggy lites!. if thats your goal go get the lamps etc. from a wrecking yard or use www.car-part.com searchable used auto parts clear across north america. if you want lamps that actually help you see in rain/fog/snow etc. get a set of bosch compact 100s which fit the factory opening nicely and have very good performance. you can run em with factory switch/wiring or put in an overlay wiring harness such as a hella husa-87212. if youre trying to fill-in the black hole on the road left by the standard headlamps consider putting in a set of the 98-01 dodge ram sport headlamps which are vastly better. these are the clear-lens/optic-reflector lamps with two bulbs per side compared to the optic-lens lamps with one bulb per side found in the regular 94-01 rams. the lamps themselves can be found expensively through a dealer or less expensively via www.car-part.com ; dealers often claim the sport lamps cant be installed in a standard truck or cant be installed without a $600 wiring harness. forget that noise do a google search on rik-ram. -ds i installed the factory in fog lights in my old truck a 2001 ran 1500. they worked quite well and once again proves there are idiots on this noosegroop as well. -- moparman----remove clothes to reply... scud coordinates latitude 32.61208 degrees north longitude 96.92995 degrees west depth 17.35 inches .

nope live south of the border. havent been overly impressed with the small lights that seem popular now and the blue makes it hard to meet on a dark road. kind of eye balling the hella model 550 fog lights. they measure 3 3/4 x7 11/16 x 3 1/4 not as big as i use to run on my older trucks but will dwarf the factory ones. but also like the looks of the piaa 5200 series but the price is scary at double the price of the hella dont know if their would be enough improvement to justify. gary carter | if you are in canada.. go to ugh canadian tire and get the blue driving | lights. they are bullet shaped and fit great... and only $60.00.... or if | you arent lucky enough to live here you can always check online at | www.canadiantire.ca m. | | | | i am getting ready to build a custom bumper for my 1996 ram and i am | looking | at replacing my factory fog lights with aftermarket units. currently im | looking at cibie piaa and hella lights. ive budgeted $200 for the lights | and a relay ill use the factory wiring up to the crossmember. i have | decided on running clear fog light instead of yellow ones after reading | many articles including the on at | www.gi.alaska.edu/scienceforum/asf5/593.html any good suggestions | | gary carter | | | | .

which bfgs did you get for the truck ive always run the ats even on my old 85 c-10 and especially on the c-10 it handled very well all things considered - it was missing the anti-sway bar....and even the 33x12.5 tas on my 79 k-1500 work quite well wet or dry...... jeremy thats funny i just replaced my uniroyals with bfgoodrich and am not impressed. i agree with you that the uniroyals had a hard time getting my truck moving in the rain but the truck tracked true and straight and would turn like a sports car on dry roads. the bfgoodrich tend to make it wander a little and act skittish at highway speeds. this surprised me considering how well their tires work on my transam and magnum. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving i used to run uniroyals back in the day didnt like them at all. no traction on damp ground and id imagine much worse on wet or snowy ground. didnt keep em long enough to find out. used to install coopers but its been ages. they were decent nicely priced tires. all i run is bfgoodrich at/ta kos now. all the people i know that use their trucks ie - 4xing or snow plowing run bfgs. not sure how they compare in price to uniroyal but theyre prolly more expensive than the cooper and i know they make em in 16.5. jeremy any opinions by users of cooper ast and uniroyal laredo awp tires theyre one of the few options in the old 16.5 size on my dodge. tia -- ed light smiley -/ ms smiley - .
