dont know if b&m still sells trick shift yep also have full synthetic now lot of marking hype but just basically type f basically yes either way does help launch with high horsepower motors ive been using type f with at least 2 quarts of 30 weight since 1992 when the 727 was last out of the challenger. very little band or clutch material in pan at changes. according to dragstrip calculators its putting out 440 hp at the rear wheels. this last change i used about 1/2 type f and 1/2 mobil 1 10/30. seems to be working fine guy pitted next to me at boise had put dex 3 in his turbo 350 per his trans builders instructions. just wasnt working right so we dumped out the dex 3 and put type f in it. it really picked up the launch and shifting another guy with a dragster had dex 3 in it also and he was experiencing lazy launches and kind of lazy shifts also ive heard too that dex 3 is supposed to be the hot ticket these days but does it make a dfference with the typical racing transmission red bands kevlar bands etc over a normal street type rebuild guys out here use half dex and half synthetic motor oil. seems to work. i hear the dodge diesel gu

if i was going to upgrade the engine i would not use anything but the 360. the 318 does not have any torque. if you install a 4 barrel and headers it will help but you still come up short relative to the 360. -- tony my boats at http//t.thomas.home.mchsi.com i own a 79 dodge custom 100 with a /6 and i want to rebuild the entire truck for the fram up. but i dont know what engine to use should i rebuild the old /6 or upgrade to 318. what am i getting my self in to!!!! .

really gee i sure wish id known this 4 1/2 years ago. then i wouldnt have towed a combined 11000+ pound load west out of denver over vail pass with my 79 d-150 with 318-2 bbl auto and 3.55 axle. the 318 has a lot more guts than you give it credit for or maybe yours wasnt tuned right. budd if i was going to upgrade the engine i would not use anything but the 360. the 318 does not have any torque. if you install a 4 barrel and headers it will help but you still come up short relative to the 360. -- tony my boats at http//t.thomas.home.mchsi.com i own a 79 dodge custom 100 with a /6 and i want to rebuild the entire truck for the fram up. but i dont know what engine to use should i rebuild the old /6 or upgrade to 318. what am i getting my self in to!!!! .

first where are you local weather factors are very important when it comes to the cause of rust. budd i have a 2003 ram 1500 bought new in sept 2003. has been garaged almost every night since. i have noticed that the metal structure under the seats is completely rusted over. yet the metal connecting the seats to the floor is not. has anyone else noticed this could vehicle have been in a flood why only the seat structure and not the mounting gary .

my old 87 dodge d150 w/ 318 2bbl auto 3.55 axle would hit 55 mph w/ a 4400 lb pontoon boat behind it wide open on flat road. after installing msd ignition mallory high output coil edlebrock 4 bbl and aluminum intake dual exhaust headers it would hit 65 without too much problem and probably go higher. there was nothing wrong w/ the carb or anything before i started the upgrades either. if you towed 6000+ lbs out of denver w/ a 318 - what speed were you running -- tony my boats at http//t.thomas.home.mchsi.com really gee i sure wish id known this 4 1/2 years ago. then i wouldnt have towed a combined 11000+ pound load west out of denver over vail pass with my 79 d-150 with 318-2 bbl auto and 3.55 axle. the 318 has a lot more guts than you give it credit for or maybe yours wasnt tuned right. budd if i was going to upgrade the engine i would not use anything but the 360. the 318 does not have any torque. if you install a 4 barrel and headers it will help but you still come up short relative to the 360. -- tony my boats at http//t.thomas.home.mchsi.com i own a 79 dodge custom 100 with a /6 and i want to rebuild the entire truck for the fram up. but i dont know what engine to use should i rebuild the old /6 or upgrade to 318. what am i getting my self in to!!!! .

for max towing no question get the motor mounts tranny and tranny mount and drop in a 440-727 combo. for max reliability hulling home bargain from menards and light towing rebuild the /six drive it for 200000 more miles. for medium-heavy towing contact clifford research. cant beat a /six for reliability have seen a few shut down warmed over small blocks in the 1/4. look under the hood of most early 70s dodge dump trucks you will find a 318 or /six. basically it comes down to what you want to do with the truck if the /six currently does everything you need definitely rebuild it! gary carter 1996 1500/5.2/5-speed/4x4 2000 fxst i own a 79 dodge custom 100 with a /6 and i want to rebuild the entire truck for the fram up. but i dont know what engine to use should i rebuild the old /6 or upgrade to 318. what am i getting my self in to!!!! .

personally id go with a 360 / 727 combo use a 2-bbl intake and a holley fi set-up or a holley 2-bbl if you can find a re-buildable one rebuild theat 727 before you put it in and add a large hayden 1679 or trucool 4590 transmission cooler bypassing the in-radiator cooler lets you use the cheaper radiator from a manual-shift truck if you are replacing radiator; run 50-50 mix of atf and mobilone 10-30 engine oil in the transmission for max towing no question get the motor mounts tranny and tranny mount and drop in a 440-727 combo. for max reliability hulling home bargain from menards and light towing rebuild the /six drive it for 200000 more miles. for medium-heavy towing contact clifford research. cant beat a /six for reliability have seen a few shut down warmed over small blocks in the 1/4. look under the hood of most early 70s dodge dump trucks you will find a 318 or /six. basically it comes down to what you want to do with the truck if the /six currently does everything you need definitely rebuild it! gary carter 1996 1500/5.2/5-speed/4x4 2000 fxst i own a 79 dodge custom 100 with a /6 and i want to rebuild the entire truck for the fram up. but i dont know what engine to use should i rebuild the old /6 or upgrade to 318. what am i getting my self in to!!!! .

i have to ask how you can support a candidate that lied on military reports just to earn medals iirc it was on cnn lol lets get real. first of all there is no proof of that. just the smearing of some right wing doctor who makes the claim but cannot back it up. funny how with all the hell that this doctor must have seen over there he can remember a minor incident with a no-name soldier. btw that was one purple heart what about the other 4 medals. now if you are using this as a reason for selection of a president there is equally credible proof that he deserted his post and he wasnt even man enough to go at all and hid in the guard. wouldnt doubt it all of anyone trying to ride the coattails of the real jfk just because he has the same initials. the source i heard was quite reputable. my error the abandonment issue that i was referring to was bush and his missing last year. and whos wife cant remember which lie she told to whom after only a few minutes her denial of calling the actions some people un-american at the convention. please where is the proof of this. the un-american thing is usually said by the right wing. dont read the much do you just your party line approved propaganda right it was all over yahoo! 10 minutes after it happened. i believe you i just want to see it. walk a mile in my shoes tom before you decide what i should do. please explain. pathetic. and you dare say i have memory probs. walk a mile in my shoes before you judge my life. as the old saying goes. i am not judging your life just doubting your reasoning. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

clutches and bands wear out 10-20000 miles earlier. dont know if b&m still sells trick shift seen it last in the 80s lot of marking hype but just basically type f with a different color dye and about $3 a quart price increase back then. either way does help launch with high horsepower motors debatable if much difference with standard motors 300 hp. gary carter type f gives more grip and less slip. old-old trick btw budd nope dex 3 run 50-50 mix of atf type f politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

with a load like that on a pickup you use the shoulder and low range 727 autowhen the grade gets steep. it took 1 3/4 days to haul from canon city co to moab ut by way of denver. i wasnt worried about speed or economy i was worried more about climbing from denver to vail in a truck with a engine pushing 300000 miles and less than 2000k on a backyard re-ring overhaul. btw the 318 was running stock exhaust with a turbo muffler including cat and a 360 degree 2-bbl intake and carb from a 72 318 ... yep that was the only mods. stock ignition champion truck plugs. what is the load in the bed when you tow your boat my load alone was 11000+ pounds total not the gross vehicle weight. i was 1050# overweight on the drive axle and 750# over on the front. i wasnt able to weigh the tandem axle trailer but the tires were half flattened at normal operation pressure. and on the flat road i ran 65 mph. gas mileage averaged only about 5 mpg on the level at that speed and less on the climbs. budd my old 87 dodge d150 w/ 318 2bbl auto 3.55 axle would hit 55 mph w/ a 4400 lb pontoon boat behind it wide open on flat road. after installing msd ignition mallory high output coil edlebrock 4 bbl and aluminum intake dual exhaust headers it would hit 65 without too much problem and probably go higher. there was nothing wrong w/ the carb or anything before i started the upgrades either. if you towed 6000+ lbs out of denver w/ a 318 - what speed were you running -- tony my boats at http//t.thomas.home.mchsi.com really gee i sure wish id known this 4 1/2 years ago. then i wouldnt have towed a combined 11000+ pound load west out of denver over vail pass with my 79 d-150 with 318-2 bbl auto and 3.55 axle. the 318 has a lot more guts than you give it credit for or maybe yours wasnt tuned right. budd if i was going to upgrade the engine i would not use anything but the 360. the 318 does not have any torque. if you install a 4 barrel and headers it will help but you still come up short relative to the 360. -- tony my boats at http//t.thomas.home.mchsi.com i own a 79 dodge custom 100 with a /6 and i want to rebuild the entire truck for the fram up. but i dont know what engine to use should i rebuild the old /6 or upgrade to 318. what am i getting my self in to!!!! .
