if your truck is stock it probably wont help till you get over 350hpit wouldnt hurt to put a straight pipe where the muffler was. you should look @ this site alot of good info http//www.turbodieselregister.com/ .

leaving your original muffler in and going larger from the turbo to the muffler is like cutting the bottom end of a glass bottle you will still have the bottle neck !!!!!! you will not gain one iota. emil will adding a new 4 pipe from the turbo to the muffler help my truck if i keep the rest of the exhaust stock -----= posted via feeds.com uncensored usenet =----- http//www.feeds.com - the #1 group service in the world! -----== over 100000 groups - 19 different servers! =----- .

i cant speak to the 12v but when i bought my 02 ram used it was running straight pipes. it was annoyingly loud; to the point that i was embarassed to drive it out of my neighborhood when i had to leave really early. i replaced the muffler but not the resonator. most noise is heard from the engine and not the exhaust now. also performance is pretty much the same with/without the muffler. sorry i dont know how it performed with the stock system though. /ty i know this has come up in the past but i forgot the outcome. how much louder is the 5.9 12 valve with the cat and muffler bypassed since my muffler is starting to rot at the outlet i was considering at least for now running a piece of 3 pipe from the down pipe all the way to the bend pipe over the axle. straight exhaust. how loud will this be will it be heard over the engine noise someone out there must have done this already. i see pipe is available here http//www.mbrp.com/mbrp%20b/accs.html i am aware of all the regulations about the cat and the muffler. this is just a test john .
