Q: well that was a relatively painless lesson learned. thanks to all. okay heres a less ambitious question/quest how about port fuel injection from a later model 360 would i have to change the heads thanks again. joe hello all just picked up a cherry of an 88 dodge ram wagon http//www.befumo.com/newvan.htm which i have every intention of hanging on to for the long haul. while i have no plans to do anything immediately i was thinking i might just keep my eyes open for a good deal on a wreck with the cummins 5.9 turbo diesel from which i could harvest the engine and associated electronics -- transmission if necessary. so my question is will the cummins fit into the van without at lot of hefty mods i have access to a shop with a lift and an expert welder if i have to do some modest fabrication but i probably wouldnt get into it if its not largely a bolt-in process. thanks. joe .

pwtrtwn wrote hello i have a 94 ram with the 35 gal tank and i just discovered a fuel leak in the line that is between the tank and the frame i took it to the dealer and got a nice shock $650.00 to replace the lines and the filler neck with 4 hr. labor i have tried the local parts stores for some high pressure rubber fuel line 3/16 is whats stamped on the hose from the fuel pump. i would like to just splice and run some new but the parts stores do not list this size. any ideas thanks fuel system and suspension system parts should never be taken for granted. if the wrong type of fuel line is used then you may have one real nice molatov coctail just waiting to happen. .

tom lawrence wrote is the injector in the cylender some of it its actually no different in position than a spark plug... and on the 12v engines removes in the same manner. you just have to disconnect the fuel line that runs to it first. on the 24v engines the injector is in the middle of the combustion chamber like the spark plug on a hemi and you have to remove the valve cover and rocker arms to access them no tube through the valve cover like on a hemi. on the 03 and up engines you also have an electrical connector to deal with. i thought that was a new thing i dont follow... i thought only the new diesels with the pilot injection had the injector in the combustion chamber and the older ones had the injector in the intake manifold like a gas engine. .

i have been a chrysler fan all my life. to be exact i loved plymouth rip. i just bought a 2000 dodge ram 1500 today. 67400 miles. i am sure you are all thrilled at this . i went right down and had the oil changed and intend to do this every 3 to 4000 miles. the truck is blue and sweet very clean. i am a minimalist but i went to the local truck stuff store to blow the remainder of my money. i did not see anything i could not live without though so i walked out with my money in my pocket. add ons are expensive! i do want to personalize my truck though. any tips for a new owner suggestions hints phyloe -- life is the things that happen while youre waiting for things that never happen be really carefull on how you personalize your truck. one guy personalized his truck this morning out on i-80 and closed all 4 lanes for a few hours. o how about some westin chromed stainless steel nerf bars lifetime warrantee. http//www.truckaddons.com/catalog/subpages/westinstepbars1.asp or http//tinyurl.com/633hh . im an owner of a pair of platinum series bars not a store owner -- fmb only one b in fmb .
