Q: if you buy the cover buy it for what its for keeping things hidden and dry. buying it in the hopes of increased mileage will probably be a waste of money. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving if i buy a torreno cover for my new 1500 truck will i get better gas mileage as advertized. i do 120 miles daily highway driving. how long is the pay back .

it is my opinion that nothing you do to the bed including taking off your tail gate is going to increase mileage. look at a truck in a wind tunnel and you will find that the wind that goes over your cab curls under at your back glass probably resulting in a vacuum/pushing effect. and you nuts that think a missing tail gate helps out put a couple shovels full of sawdust in there and take it for a spin. everything is going to settle at the front of your bed proving that there is little or no flow through the tail gate area that the tailgate itself would restrict. -- msyjsy if i buy a torreno cover for my new 1500 truck will i get better gas mileage as advertized. i do 120 miles daily highway driving. how long is the pay back .
