i wont give up my xpl till someone else makes a hull that out handles it. that was why i was wondering about the 3d. the hull looks like the xpl hull. lower seat + same hull + same engine must = awesome ski. who knows they had to take off the trailers fenders and bearing buddies to get it in. the next option would have been to stand the trailer on its side and sit the skis on the floor of the trailer. the skis get a fogging after each use. mine has buckshot magnum carbs with prok flame arresters so fogging is easy. my wifes still has the oem air box on it so that doesnt get done as well. but she rides like a woman so hers is a babied 600 hours. the local hd dealership here in arizona sells thunder mountain bikes. i like the fact they use oem hd engines and trannies. very pretty bikes. awesome paint. they look practical and usable unlike the overly stretched choppers that some custom shops get carried away with. 147 makes my tc88 sound impotent. you sure youre not trying to make up for any personal size issues john .

good deal...i doo like the way those xpl handle better than any other model they offer. double trailer in a moving truck im sure they had to grease the sides first. gas is surely high....i run premium in my 2500 qc and it really sucks. lots of other people are going the same route as you...or not riding as much which is sad to say. 600 hours is excellent...take care of it and dont put it up wet or youll pay for it big time down the road. i personally dont ride all that much anymore either. heck after fixing everyone elses boats the last thing i want to do is mess with more on my days off so i like you would ride my bike more than the skis. sold the bike thunder mountain custom and in the spring will be building my own bike..frame and all. all billet. if its a cast part its not going on the bike. 147 inch motor. woohoo. ill add you to my address book. next time im in the area if i have my bike with me well go for a cruise. planning a trip to europe with it first though. thatll be a blast. -- laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works inc. in the battle between money and love money will always triumph i may have to change my signature......on second thought i was right the first time. we just moved to arizona. we brought the 2 xpls and left the wr3 and wb in moms backyard. we convinced the mover to squeeze the double trailer into the moving truck. weve been riding the harley more than the skis. i spoke to bill a few weeks ago. it was the first time in over a year. i drove past glendora in july and didnt think of stopping in to see him. with the price of premium gas i finally took the miller head off of my xpl and went back to oem. in ny the injection solenoid on the coffman pipe clogged again so my exhaust systems plastic and rubber parts melted and it sunk again. i gave it a wd40 and silicone enema. so i sold the pipe prop and the mt system and went back to oem stuff. its up to 600 hours and still running strong. i agree about the group. i was surprised to see that not much gets posted. it seems george is still in the thick of controversy. i asked a question there about the seadoo 3d and there were only two responses. its so dead there you might even see harry bill and george agreeing on something. i was shocked back then that sbt was arguing with you especially since you had pictures. luckily all my engines are original so i havent needed a rebuilder. im glad to hear you and shop are doing well. good luck with the new shop. im glad i ran into you again. talk to you soon! john .

the selection of load range e tires is very limited in my size. since i pull an 8000lb trailer e tires are my only choice. i currently have oe bfg rugged trail tires which i find to be too noisey. i never go off road. i rarely see snow here in the southwest so a tame m&s rated tire is fine. i live in minnesota and run highway tread...they work fine year round. if you want quiet tires forget m&s. .

both snoman and fred may be right. check the ground connection to the switch. if that connection is good suspect the switch. where ever the problem is expect that connection/device to be getting really hot. john .

my 1998 dodge diesel suddenly has no power. i went on a 2.200 mile road trip pulling a 30ft fifth wheel with no problems at all but now three weeks later it barely has enough power to get on the freeway with no load at all. i have replaced the fuel filter and air filter with no results. i have bought fuel at three different stations thinking maybe it was bad fuel but had no results. the truck does not smoke or run hot and everything seems normal except no power. the truck will get up to speed i had going 90 mph but it takes forever. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks randy .

bryan wrote from cat back with labor how much ny metro area. take it to a muffler shop and have them bend pipe rather than buying a catback kit. result is about 1/2 the cost. i paid $195 installed for 3 pipe and a good muffler. i dont remember the brand i put on that truck but it was a name brand. .

ive got a 97 dodge ctd and want to install a trans. temp. gauge. i ordered one from the local auto parts dealer who suggested a stewart warner gauge #82344 and a sending unit #280ee-f. the instructions read cut a hole in the instrument panel. theres no place to do that. so now im wondering if ive ordered the wrong gauge. chrysler told me they dont make them and id have to find an after market gauge. what brand of guage to others use and are they electric or mechanical. the stewart warner is electric. .

we are aware that he wants a fix which is why we are using a lesson in circuits and ohms law to help him find the problem and get past incorrect information that will hinder his efforts. it becomes much more difficult to diagnose a problem when attempting to diagnose with no knowledge at all. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving guys the original poster wants a fix not a lesson in circuits and ohms law. john p.s. laz i was 11 in 1969 and my wife was just born. .

actually no. once again if you read it you will see that you are incorrect. in order to perform the checks required the lights have to be operating and if the lights are operating any voltage drops the only thing that can limit the current can be discovered by his method. you can still get correct voltage readings but that does not mean enough current will flow through that weak point to supply the proper amount of current that item requires. you cannot get correct voltage readings if the required current is being restricted. this is made obvious by ohms law. the only way the weak spot can reduce the current would be by dropping voltage due to resistance and that would be detected by the suggested method. he may indeed find a bad connection which may be open hence the improper or no reading. if the connection were open the light would not light at all. i speak from experience in voltage through a device/wire/cable will not always supply the appropriate current to operate a device. while this is true a voltage drop would be seen on the undersized wire and i have been doing this for over 30 years. for example connect a small gauge wire not cable to your starter in place of the standard gauge. you will find voltage when checking for voltage only. but this does not duplicate the method suggested as the starter is not operating as the headlights would need to be to perform this test. but as soon as the demand for current is needed that wire cant supply the needed capacity. and if you were to then measure the voltage at the starter you would see a massive voltage drop due to the higher internal resistance of that thin wire which is exactly what the suggested method is looking for. not so much a massive drop as in your example but a significant drop due to a bad connection somewhere. fire hose vs. garden hose. id suspect bad connections rather than open connections. of course it is a bad connection since the light does work it is just dim. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

you got it right...they ended up posting a retraction and apology on the group. that particular group is a thing of the past now and not many people visit anymore. doing well here about to build my own new shop...tired of paying for other peoples buildings for them. you still riding -- laszlo almasi carolina watercraft works inc. in the battle between money and love money will always triumph i may have to change my signature......on second thought i was right the first time. hey laszlo i havent seen you since i used to frequent the jetski group. last i remember you were having some issues with sbts lawyers i think. maybe im not remembering it right. i hope all is well with you. john .
