combustion engines. that is not a cost directly born by the consumer in their wallets. if the government were to give a large tax rebate for purchasers of hybrids then it could help. another hidden cost is doctor visits insurance/out-of-pocket for allergies or respiratory illness including cancer irritated or *caused* by particulate matter in the air stirred up or created by combustion engines. these hidden costs increase every year. true but thats across the board and not recognized on a per individual basis. a person cant cut their costs of drs bills by purchasing a hybrid. only when almost everyone does so. also hybrids require less maintenance. the engine doesnt run all of the time. this doubles sometimes triples the savings over the life of the vehicle. electric motors wear out as well. they are far from maintenance free. only time will tell what the expenses of a hybrid are. tires on hybrids are typically much smaller and cheaper than its regular full combustion counterpart. tires are the same size on the civic highlander and escape. which vehicles are you referring to when you say typically .

roy wrote you may very well be correct. i guess it is how you look at it and what you are comfortable with. ill be moving from a car that gets 17-19 on the highway and around 15 in the city. also it requires premium fuel. so until the dust settles from the move and i know exactly where we are at it looks pretty good. people are interested in mpg for one reason. to save money. but if the higher mpg cars cost more than the gas savings then its simply not economical no matter how high the mpg of they hybrid. so far in almost all cases a 100% gas economy car is a better deal if the reason for buying is to save money. hybrids dont save money. .

im not referring to the all look alike tract housing. i grew up in an area where single story ranch style homes were the norm. some people lately have wanted to bull doze their home and put up a mega huge multi-story home. some nearby neighborhoods have such houses and they basically look like small hotels! they were stopped because they disrupt the uniformity of the neighborhood and make it look like something much different than why people bought there in the first place. feel free to move. if its not against the building code to go more than one story who cares wow they look like small hotels... whats next small casinos thats not true at all. a massive house in the middle of simple small homes is not always an improvement. its a distraction and an eyesore in many areas. it looks out of place. yeah thats horrible...... see in the neighborhood where my place is in maryland people buy the small house and they put up a second floor or add on in some way. and yeah its a change to the neighborhood and it looks out of place but its their land. so i dont have a problem with it. besides its probably pulling my property value up. thats a double edged sword since the taxes are reassessed every three years. so ill be selling puttting together a good retirement and maybe buying some toys. and whoever buys my place will probably add on to it. oh well.... itll be theirs at that point. the mentality you display is one of i dont like what that guy did so ill petition to make a law against it. maybe we should simply outlaw assholes who figure they can control more than they own. -- max join www.devilbrad.com and find out what free exchange of info is all about. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author .

max dodge wrote id bet the solution in many cases is to allow the homeowner to erect a 7 fence. that could be. i dont have any problem with a 7 fence in general. it depends on the neighborhood. if i lived in an area where nobody had any fences resulting in a rather open natural country look then i would be upset at someone building a large brick fence. where i live it would be a problem if someone didnt have a fence rather than the other way around. just depends on the area. because the law requires it. would you like to see the documents to which i refer you told me the laws are worthless because they are unconstitutional. i asked to state where in the constitution it mentions that and you referred me to the 10th amendement...which does not prohibit such laws. why 5 as to basic look wtf is that in many neighborhoods one cant build a structure that doesnt architecturally fit in to the surrounding terrain and buildings. the building permit will be rejected. i agree with much of these codes. it would look horrible to have an anything goes policy. again this is not something that can be decided upon because you dont like it it has to pose a hazard to the public. now you are talking about your particular area and not policies in general. i already stated that laws do exist for particular neighborhoods and people buy there with those laws in mind as to what they can and cannot do. how about a monstorous 3 or 4 story mega house built in the middle of simple small 1 story homes wouldnt bother me a bit. it would bother many others and create a horrible neighborhood to not have any structured policies at all. .

a definition of property codes as determined by the commonwealth of pennsylvania are codes that determine maintenance and sundry things such as grass height tree trimming pavement area parking spaces etc. building codes are that set of regulations that determine how a building may be constructed with regard to materials and standards for structure electrical plumbing and waste. zoning codes are the set of regulations that determine what areas of land may be used for specific things such as agriculture manufacturing business and residential. seems like in ma some of pas property codes are covered in ma zoning law. the number and size of parking spaces are regulated by zoning. ma doesnt have separate property codes. do pa cities utilize a planning board or conservation board .

max dodge wrote paved driveways prevent dust. it also prevents rocks from being spread out onto the roadway. true. however at thousands of dollars to do so it would be a finacial imposition to suddenly enforce this code which has been on the books for decades. as such it has no business being there except as a guideline to settle disputes. much as i said to begin with the borough here does exactly that and does not enforce this section of the property code. with your views neighborhoods would go down the tubes with the i can do anything i want mantra. your views are also the very reason why home owner associations have been formed. i dislike them completely but they are a necessity in areas with people that have your views. fortunately in the areas where people have my views there are usually more of us than those of you who feel your rights are infringed if someone else breathes in the same room. homeowners associations are different than law and government. has are much like country clubs.... they are for people who seem to feel more rules are better. a neighborhood with an ha can put forth rules as long as the the property owners who are there when the rules are put in place agree to those rules and the rules are put forth to anyone b

without an ha the constitution and case law are the law. thus if two neighbors ssay that the fence on their mutual property line is fine by them it is merely a rule by which they agree to abide much as a set of rules that an ha might put in place. so..... if your ha can put in place rules that bind the members of the group why can the average citizen not do the same so long as all affected agree would you want to live next door to someones house thats basically a dump strewn with junked cars weeds and basic filth all of the above can be proven to be a hazard to the safety and health of the public. a fence otoh cannot be proven such. however if i lived next to such a place i would simply erect a 7 fence and be done with it. -- max join www.devilbrad.com and find out what free exchange of info is all about. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author . 222 337134 bruji.125$cj4.89@trndny08 no max. the constitution does not give you the right to do anything you please. you also seem to have a rather strange definition of whats considered infringement. you have certain rights but so do your neighbors. they have the right to not be bothered by the very things you claim a right to be able to do as you please. actually it does. try reading the tenth amendment. my strange definition of what is in fringement is exactly what yours is using different words. my rights extend as far as your rights. so long as i do not infringe on your rights i can do as i please. should we therefore not have zoning laws because they arent constitutional no we should therefore not have property codes because they are unlawful. zoning codes as ive said previously serve an important purpose. commercial businesses intermixed in a residential neighborhood what the heck...anything goes because you have the right to do as you please huh yes anything goes on your own property so long as you follow zoning and building codes. property codes are a pile of malarky that should be done away with. -- max join www.devilbrad.com and find out what free exchange of info is all about. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author .

sorry max but i believe that public comfort was also mentioned by you. as for the public right how things look and maintain property value is part of the public right. lets assume that property value falls under the public comfort which it does not. public comfort is such things as loud noises offensive odors and the like not financial well being. fine. now explain how a 7 fence lowers property value any more than a 5 fence. tell me how a fence is a hazard to the public. this is still a society max which means that you cannot do whatever the hell you feel like even in a free country. wrong. i can do whatever the hell i like unless it infringes on someones rights. lol and you keep thinking that. its true. my rights go as far as your rights. as long as i do not infringe your rights i can do as i see fit within my rights. anyone who argues differently fails to read what is written. the problem is that it usually takes more than two to come to an agreement about a fence. now what happens if person a agrees with person b to let him build his 7 foot fence. afterwards person b desides he wants a fence as tall but person c the neighbor on the other side of b says that they are friggen ugly and he doesnt want it on his property line sounds like some real trouble will start then. i disagree. if a and b agree then the fence goes up. if b and c cannot agree then the codes serve as the guideline. but in the case of the agreement between a and b why would the government step in if neither one has a problem sure it is if people in the neighborhood think that its ugly and dont want them or it in their development. sorry that doesnt fly. personal taste isnt part of the law and the document i have specifically states that municipalities do not have the authority to declare something a nuisance per se but rather may only prohibit nuisances in fact. to constitute the kind of nuisance in fact that a municipality may prohibit the conduct or condition must be an inconvenience or a troublesome offense that annoys the community as opposed to some particular person. in effect then it means that simply because one person feels a fence is ugly or that it makes his property values drop it is not assumed that the fence is a nuisance. this is complete bullshit that you have no way in hell of backing up. sorry max but just because a huge fence doesnt bother you doesnt mean that it bothers nobody. i can back it up and have the documents to prove it. the fence has to be a public problem not an individual problem in order to be an offense according to pa guidelines based on case law. if people feel that is is a problem then it is one even if you dont agree. if the vehicle is huge and doesnt fit into the neighborhood this it very much is the object itself that is offensive. sorry but it still must conform to the guidleines set forth and simply being huge or not fitting isnt a legal criteria. sorry max but you are wrong. if it is ok to park the kenworth at his house why not the trailer as well. then hell what if he has two or three of them. why not park the entire fleet on his property. where exactly do you draw the line max if all he does is park a company vehicle on his land thats a far cry from parking a company fleet at the house. the line is drawn when it corsses the zoning code requiements not the property code requirements. please list the specific crime or vehicle code that says you cannot warm up the kenworth on a cold day. the public has the right to have piece in their neighborhood youve answered your question. when it disturbs the peace a commonly known summary violation. --- max join www.devilbrad.com and find out what free exchange of info is all about. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author .

because if you built a fence too high then the neighborhoods dogs cant get over it to get to to neighbors female dog thats in heat. the result is that the entire neighbors dogs will bark all night disturbing the peace and quiet. might seem funny but the problem is well described.... because of other peoples actions a fence is not allowed. the fence didnt do anything. wrong. i can do whatever the hell i like unless it infringes on someones rights. with that logic there would be few zoning laws. if it doesnt infringe then heck build whatever you want next door to who cares what. doesnt work that way max. but it does work that way. check out the constitution sometime. i can excersize my rights are much as i wish to as long as i dont infringe on anothers rights. anyone who says differently isnt reading the words as they are written. -- max join www.devilbrad.com and find out what free exchange of info is all about. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author .

door that has been failing and is becoming a somewhat common issue. now its a matter of waiting until thursday to get me in. - dont feel bad... my dealership took 9 days to replace my leaking evaporator... and that was after i told them when i scheduled the appointment that the evaporator was leaking. nothing like being proactive and making sure you have the parts in stock right come on.... thats just crazy talk. almost as good as the time my battery exploded on me and they told me theyd have to order a replacement because they didnt have one in stock. youve got 500 trucks out there on the lot and im pretty sure most of them have a battery or two in them. blank stare ahhh.... dealerships. im dreading my next appointment... cant imagine how long its going to take to repair a broken nav system. what do you figure 4 days 6 i can hardly wait... hey tom drive a few hours west and ill say i can have it fixed for ya in about 4 months. ill even spring for the white castles while ya wait... vbg denny cheapskate!! you never offered me no white castles....!! mike in not offering he did you a favor. i wonder why hes pissed at tom. bfg roy .

roy wrote anybody have any good info on them which is better and so on. would like opinion based on fact not supposition. tia toyota has the best reviews but honda is cheaper and good quality. but i really do not see the purpose of the hybrids. they command a hefty premium in price that will never be recouped from gas savings. and resale will be absolutely horrid when they reach the end of the typical battery life. based upon the current state of the art i would avoid hybrids like the plague... toyota will soon find that paybacks are hell.... jmho seems like they are like a bic lighter. after the 100000 miles or 8 year battery warranty runs out ya throw them away. that would be an awful expensive bic. that is purdy much what ive gathered too. when its time to replace the batteries youre gonna cry. im not sold on the hybrids quite yet but give them a few more years and they may be ok. denny .

whats wrong with the nav system tom as best i can tell the database index thats held in nvram is hosed causing very erroneous maps to display usually a patchwork quilt of red criss-cross lines. the gps receiver is working fine as the lat/longs are always correct. id love to simply try re-flashing not to bring up that dead horse for another flogging the software but i dont know if theres a way to do it without having a newer version of the software - and i dont want to plunk down $100 for an updated dvd without knowing for sure that that would fix the problem. what i generally do is if i am sure that it is the head unit i order an exchange for the customer and when they come in we make the swap. one trip.... no waiting..... you wanna talk to my dealership maybe theyd learn something... .

tom. i ordered a spicer part as you suggested but also for another and curious reason that a lot of people wont care about but here goes. when i was a young punk kid i did summer work and building maintenance for less than half what minimum wage is now with no benefits to boot and they teamed me up with a older guy that was well into his eighties whose first name was actually spicer. he had worked in a foundry most of his working life and had the musculature of a man in his forties who had been intensely working out for the past 25 years. i wouldnt dare to take him on. one of the first things he told me and there were many he did which a lot i cant repeat is that he said stevie you will find out in life that there are a lot more horses *sses than there are horses. i have always found that to be true but considered it a good omen that one of the foremost dodge recourses on the planet suggested this part. for what its worth; thanks tom. im sure ill have more questions but will wait till the part arrives and i injure myself in a most painful way as previous before i bug you again. by the way you were totally correct about what a drag link v s. tie rod end was. when i asked different parts shops about a drag link they looked at me like i had lobsters crawling out of my ears. yet in the service manuals it is specifically refers to it as a drag link. thanks again. steve .
