Q: your engine!!!!!!!!!!!! ken w seems like every dip stick i ever saw says do not overfill thats nice but does anybody really know why what can it really hurt .

a slight amount of overfill will not hurt anything. but if you get it overfull enough that the crankshaft splashes in the oil it will fill the oil with air bubbles and that aint good on the engine. at a minimum the hydraulic lifters will fall. ive heard of overfills that blew the bottom pan gasket bent the pan out of shape and other horror stories. these must have been extreme overfills though. on wed 7 apr 2004 210645 -0500 ken knjwood@charte.net wrote your engine!!!!!!!!!!!! ken w seems like every dip stick i ever saw says do not overfill thats nice but does anybody really know why what can it really hurt too many garys .. so .. clyde .
