Wondering how Nate's move went

Q: im surprised they would cover the manifold. most of those service contracts just cover internally oiled components when it comes to the engine. rick -- my real e-mail address is yofuri@oakharbor.net ok in the shake your head and have them repeat it cause this is too stupid to be true category.......... 1998 dodge ram 4x2 5.9l. heard an odd tapping noise on saturday when starting the truck cold. looked around under hood but didnt see anything obvious oil full noise quit after a few seconds... thought - hm sounds a little like a tappet but not quite right... sunday morning started truck and while making noise looked under hood... on the right side the two rear exhaust manifold bolts were sticking out a couple inches... shut off engine while manifold was still cool. pulled out bolts thinking - these have come loose... wrongo moose face theyre broken. yup broken most likely where the threads go into the head.... so this morning i decide to take it into a dealer to get it fixed since the thing has an extended warranty... but knowing the dealers around here are less than optimal i figured id verify the coverage of the appallingly expensive chrysler added care extended warranty....... and lo and behold im told oh no sir fasteners arent covered. it would be covered if they had to replace the manifold but broken bolts arent covered... say what so i asked about the instrument cluster where the indicator light for the cruise has burned out... oh no sir if the cluster was bad and had to be replaced that would be covered but a light bulb is not covered! and of course according to the dealer the entire dash has to be disassembled to replace the &^$# light bulb they want a couple hundred dollars to put in a $.50 bulb. its been 20 or so minutes since i got off the phone with the chrysler drone and im still sitting here shaking my head that a manifold bolt isnt covered but replacing the manifold is! of course even if they replace the manifold theyll still charge for replacing the bolts.... for any of you folks under the delusion that a chrysler extended warranty is/was money well spent disabuse yourself of that foolish notion! .

thanks rick ill try a product i have here called rust mort. ive used it to neutralize rust it has a high concentration of phosphoric acid the active ingredient. but i though it only neutralized rust and didnt actually dissolve it. per a previous post i currently have the bolts soaked in liquid wrench solution ill see how that works. next up will be the phosphoric acid bath. cool aid ill leave the pharmacy stuff as a last resort hopefully just before i have to use a drill and tap. ray methods learned from working on pumps and valves for caustic chemicals both require using kids modeling clay to form a dam or cup around the stud and threads to hold the liquid in 1. use plain coke and let it soak overnight. the phosphoric acid in the coke will dissolve the rust right down to the base metal. also kool-aid mixed with just enough water to dissolve the powder works great. 2. use methyl salicylate from the pharmacy. youll have to sign the poison log for it. its the mint-fragrance main ingredient in the heat rubs because its a pain-killer that penetrates through the skin. it will also blister the daylights out of you in high concentrations. it is also the active ingredient in marvel mystery oil. it cuts through rust varnish and sludge like gangbusters. rick -- my real e-mail address is yofuri@oakharbor.net whats the easiest way to remove stuck exhaust manifold bolts. ive gotten 14 of 16 bolts loose but two dont what to release. im afraid of breaking them off in the head. of the ones ive removed there is significant under cutting just below the hex head actually 4 are hex nuts. ive tried wd40 on a warm not hot manifold but no luck. the engine has never had the heads off before. 1975 360 cid 42000 miles. rc ok folks. heres the scoop again. wd-40 is a water displacement/drier that happens to be classified as a lubricant. to remove stuck bolts etc you really need a penetrant/lube. use liquid wrench pb blaster or any other type of lubricant that is labeled as a penetrating lubricant. the allmighty wd-40 can only go so far. simply hose the area with liquid wrench or pb blaster and wait. tap lightly with hammer etc then twist. should come out. later! -dave .

come on nate step up and say it. you pussed out!! lol welcome back bro! you should go after u-haul. they are a mess. i have a feeling that id be standing in a long line to do that. - i told him that it sounded like all he needed to do to make people happy was to give them what they were promised. he didnt talk to me anymore. lol.....ill bet! i certainly learned my lesson the hard/expensive way. check out the problems i had before i even left on the trip. keep in mind this doesnt include the dozen or so break downs along the way or having to be towed up all the hills. this is another part of the 7 page letter i wrote to uhaul ----------------------------- dear sirs i would like to describe my recent experience with uhaul in hopes of helping to prevent anyone else from having to experience the hell that myself and my family have been through in the past two weeks as a direct result of the lack of customer service we received. having a lifetime dream of moving out west from north carolina we were very excited when my wife was hired by ******* in great falls. after learning that ******* has a corporate account at uhaul i began to research my moving options at uhaul.com. i downloaded the marketing video on the 26 super mover and i was very impressed with all the additional features and benefits that the competition did not offer. although a competitor was $700 cheaper than uhaul their trucks did not offer the features of the super mover so i ultimately decided upon uhaul to move my family and i safely on our 2500 mile journey. several weeks before my scheduled move i called uhaul to reserve the 26 super mover that is advertised and promoted in the marketing video. having been warned previously concerning using a diesel powered truck in the mountains i explained that i needed a diesel and was reassured by the national corporate reservations office 800.528.6042 that i would receive a truck comparable to the one i saw in the marketing video. i was also guaranteed oral a manual transmission that would aid in braking while descending the steep mountain grades. at the same time i reserved a hitch for my wifes jeep cherokee as well as other trailer towing accessories and moving supplies. after uhaul phoned mrs. ******* at ******* the reservations agent assured me that the accessories were approved and would be waiting for me to pick up when i picked up the truck. i was contacted on that same day by my local uhaul office in raleigh nc 919.875.0059. they reassured me they would have a diesel powered 26 super mover identical to the one advertised and promoted in the uhaul marketing video for pick up on the day of my move. i called them back a week before my scheduled move to confirm the accuracy of my reservation particularly the availability of the diesel powered truck and was again assured that they would be able to provide me with exactly what i reserved accessories included. they did not know which uhaul lot i would go to and promised to call me on july 3 to give me pick up information. july 3 came and went and i got no phone call. when i attempted to call them they had closed for the day so i called 800.528.6042 and they could not give me the pick up information. the morning of the 4th the raleigh office called and told me to pick up my truck at the local fayetteville uhaul moving center. later that morning i headed to the uhaul moving center on bragg blvd. in fayetteville nc. i signed all the paperwork and gathered my accessories and was informed that i would have to pay for the accessories out of pocket because they had not been approved for the corporate account. i informed the manager that uhaul reservations had already received authorization for the over the counter items and was told that i would have to make a second trip back to her lot in about an hour to pick up the items while she got them approved. i had made my reservations weeks in advance to prevent these hang-ups; this was just the first sign of much trouble to come. with that i headed out to pick up the 26 truck figuring i would make a second trip to pick up the accessories later in the day. i met with one of the mechanics who brought up the trailer hitch for my wifes jeep cherokee although i couldnt leave with it because it had not been approved along with the other over the counter items and he showed me were the 26 truck was parked. i became concerned as soon as i sat down inside the truck. there was a large portion of the dash missing and exposed wiring was hanging out through the large holes in the dash. i cranked the engine and started to exit the parking lot when i became concerned about the noises the truck was making. at that point i knew that it did not sound like a diesel and i knew that something wasnt running right due to the way the exhaust was popping. i stopped the mechanic who had brought the jeep cherokee trailer hitch out

lol oh really. perhaps you could explain this one. sure. constantly trying to force their agenda on you. constantly trying to force their agenda into the local school systems by pressuring the school boards on any issue theyre faced with. constantly trying to force their agenda on the local politicians and other policy makers. throwing tantrums over any issue dealing with sex such as the schools giving away condoms pressuring the local cable companies to drop certain channels and waking you up early every saturday hoping to save you. not to mention the overall mentality and attitude. my biggest complaint about nc so far are those phucking restrictive covenants. i find it both humorous and aggravating that a state that is soooooo liberal with their gun laws would issue laws controlling how you so much as decorate your own property never mind putting up a separate building such as a garage. i agree the covenants are intrusive.....although around here the only ones that would apply are keeping the dead crack whores off your lawn before they attract to many flies. i like the way the mormons did it. they all moved into one area in such great numbers as to control the local/state politics to ensure a place like they wanted to live in. that has a lot to do with my initial move to montana.......to get in an area made up of people who think like i do. damn i cant blieve im back here...... -- nathan w. collier http//7slotgrille.com .

hello all... i have a 2003 ram 2500 with the cummins 5.9l ho engine and the automatic tranny. i have just under 10000 miles on it so far. i have heard of other ram owners with diesel engines claiming that they get close to +/- 20mpg. i dont get anywhere close to this. the best i have ever gotten was 16mpg and on average i get about 14.8 - 15. typical use is highway miles usually empty driver and maybe one small passenger and not towing anything. i typically have the cruise control set at 80mph and the engine tachs at about 2300 at that speed. the crazy thing is that i get almost the exact same mileage when towing a 4000lbs trailer. the power this truck has is truely impressive but i thought i would get a little better mpgs. if there are any other 2003 cummins ho auto-tranny owners out there who track their mileage i would be very interested in what you are getting. thanks! .

nate wrote bigamy was not against the law at that point and when law was passed making it illegal they dropped the policy. frankly i dont see the problem there. i think its also fair to note that the reason they practiced bigamy to begin with was because so many of their men had been killed by other religious fanatics who hated them based upon nothing more than religious differences. actually it is polygamy in utah and the reformed lds church rlds still supports the belief. although it is not supported by the lds church thousands still practice it. since the sister wives arent recognized by the government as being married our tax dollars go to support many of them and their kids. you get 3-6 of these wives living in the same house and the benefits add up. no wonder the polygs as they are called can afford to drive brand new $40000 vehicles. the mormons didnt abandon the practice until it was realized that the us government wouldnt grant statehood to utah as long as they were breaking the law. suddenly brigham young was told by a message from god to abandon the practice....probably the same messenger that told joseph smith to take multiple wives when the religion was formed lol! it is a religion like any other religion....based on certain beliefs written and interpreted over the years. so long.... =9b=9b=9b=9b=9b=9b=a0eldon ; http//community.webtv.net/ejutah/acpictures http//community.webtv.net/sodakid2/allallischalmers .

atari@shaw.ca says... hello i just bought a 2003 dodge ram 1500 quad cab 4x4 with a 5.9 l v8 engine. i got it from someone who owned it for 6 months and then had to leave the country and had to sell it. awesome truck i am very pleased with it. i have a question though. i went with a friend down to the local dealership which is huge!!! i was going to their parts department to price some nerf bars and my buddy who was with me wanted to look on the lot at a ram for himself. my buddy told the salesmen who approached us that he liked my ram and wanted one for himself which prompted the salesman so ask what kind of motor i had. when i told him it was a 5.9 l he was amazed. he told me of the 46 1500 rams he had there on the lot ...none of them were 5.9 l!!! i checked into other lots and found the same results. i also looked on the dodge website and it does not list the 5.9l as an option for the 2003 model. so my questions are 1 is this engine a true rarity for the 2003 model year it was more common earlier in the year the dealer i bought my truck from was loaded with 360s and 4.7s but few 1500 hemis. my truck came from another dealer a hundred miles away. its still on a lot of trucks and it still was an option according to my brochure. maybe they pulled the plug on it by now. 2 is there a reason other than the hemi that dodge stopped putting them in the ram well it was time for it to go. the ford and gm motors made more power. i dont know about the ford but the 5.3 gm motor got a couple miles to the gallon more than a 5.9 ram did. i passed on buying a dodge in 2000 due to the engine choice. i had already owned 3 360 powered vehicles and really didnt want a 4th one. i dont do fords so it was a gmc for me i would still have it if i hadnt wrecked it i really liked it.trading almost none or a very minor gas milage penalty for choosing the hemi over the 5.9 was a no brainer all it took was a test drive. 3 this motor has a good reputation from what i hear and all of the bugs have been smoothed out on it...has anyone heard any bads on this engine the bads are pinging problems two of my 360s pingedthe only one that didnt was my 74 roadrunner. it made the exact same hp according to chrysler as the magnum 5.9 did 20 years later. i would have to say it was quite a bit more actually. the mopar small blocks seem to have a tendency to develop intake gasket leaks and either oil or coolant or both gets sucked into the intake if youre lucky and if not coolant goes into the oil and thats a real problem. never happend to me but both my 77 and 84s sucked oil and pinged like hell. the 77 took several tries to solve it permanently or as long as i still had it anyway. 4 anyone know how much horsepower for the 5.9l i believe its 245. any comments would be appreciated especially via e-mail thanks bdk .

nathan w. collier wrote certainly! thank you friend. im curious. the mormon church the real one anyway no longer supports bigamy. based on that which beliefs do you disagree with their god was once a man and therefore has all the limitations of a man. he is not omnipotent he can make a rock too big for him to pick up he is not omniscient doesnt know everything like that he should not make a rock too big to pick up and hes not omnipresent he doesnt hear all the prayers the mormons say because hes off somewhere with his multiple wives then wouldnt it be more and truly god-like for a true god to give up his holiness to become as a man to bring free and clear salvation to mankind by being the sacrifice for sin than for a mere mortal man to try to earn exaltation through his own fallible efforts to attain a godhood which is still going to have to pass muster by another man who supposedly achieved that godhood the phrase i always think of when i think about the mormon salvation is hoisted by your own petards...lifting yourself by your own bootstraps. couldnt the same be said of all christians though yes and no. ive been insulted by people of other denominations but generally not about my faith with a couple exceptions. then most common insult has been a tendency to look down on non mormons and have a air of superiority. they also tend to act like you are their personal slave. i try to treat others as i understand jesus treated others since that is the focus of the word christian being christ-like. i fail. i know but i try harder the next time not to become a christian but because i am one. thats why my friend i worry about offending you as an atheistic person. i know you have been insulted by well meaning christians and i want to prove it is not the way jesus would have treated you. lol......talk to earle horton over in the jeep group. hes a retired microsoft millionaire that liked wild grass in his yard. his neighbors took him to court over it demanding that he landscape is yard with the right kind of grass! this manufactured home community wanted me to paint my shed to match the home right after i moved in here. they also said i could not do safety related repairs to my truck or even check the oil in my own driveway. of course those in the park that were on the good side of the management didnt have those rules . . . . bigamy was not against the law at that point and when law was passed making it illegal they dropped the policy. frankly i dont see the problem there. the problem lies in their prophet joseph smith said it was a mandate from god to spread their seeds around and he did a lot of it with other mens wives and daughters claiming it was ordained and multiply then when the change was needed god changed his mind . . my god doesnt change to suit men. hmmm . . a lustful god i think its also fair to note that the reason they practiced bigamy to begin with was because so many of their men had been killed by other religious fanatics who hated them based upon nothing more than religious differences. joe smith also claimed he would die as a lamb led to slaughter yet in actuality died in a gun battle shooting several lawmen. only one person in history ever had that prediction made about them and then was led as a lamb to sacrifice jesus. the mormons have a history of having a history that doesnt follow local court jail house or public records. do you believe them or do you believe the records i hope i didnt strain our friendship bah.....dont be silly! - imho this is why we are friends. we have always know we could speak honestly and openly to each other. thank you for being my friend. -- nathan w. collier http//7slotgrille.com budd .

bud and nate and everyone else first of all i knew there was one of regulars that had moved out to utah and i thought it was you bud but wasnt sure. second of all let me give you my perspective of utah and btw i am lds convert too and i am a san diego native and still live in san diego county. yes the lds church has a lot of influence in the state. but you also have lots of freedom that you dont find elsewhere. more places to go off roading without the sierra club getting down your back as hard as in other states. i thought about going to byu once but decided against it because i like to hike and climb and explore on the weekends. also i dont mind taking a religious class when i want to and i have had great teachers in this aspect but not every quarter. yes there are moral issues that the church takes a stance on and im glad that some religions have the balls to do that instead of just being 2 faced. ive always been taught and have tried to follow the principles taught by my parents-to stand up and be noticed on issues. im pretty vocal on my stance on most everything. yes if you want porn on tv you might not get in on cable but there is always disk network. southern utah is going to be more lds than the big cities in northern utah. but youre going to have more problems in those cities. if youve ever read any of edward abbeys books youll get the strong impression he doesnt care for mormons. in fact in two of his books the monkey wrench gang and hayduke lives there is a character named bishop love that is a great farce on the lds church. as you probably are aware earth first! has their roots in the writings of abbey. ive known fellow environmentalists and i claim to be one too that have based their attitude of the lds church solely on the writings of abbey. sadly its their closed mindiness-willing to accept someone elses words on a belief without investigating it themselves of course they will never admit to being closed minded-its always there other side that is closed minded. they would find that there are lots of flaming liberals along with the standard picture image of the church of being right wing conservatives. the reason i want to move to southern utah is not because i am lds but because i cant stand what is happening in california and would prefer a area with more freedom. i am a right wing conservative meaning i favor less taxes less government in our lives but also a flaming environmentalist how can the 2 of them together be possible got to be open minded on thu 24 jul 2003 151117 gmt budd cochran mr-d150@citlink.net wrote nate i had to give my reply a lot of thought because you are my friend and we do have differing opinions but please read this answer as the advice from a true friend as it is intended. budd nathan w. collier wrote sure. constantly trying to force their agenda on you. constantly trying to force their agenda into the local school systems by pressuring the school boards on any issue theyre faced with. constantly trying to force their agenda on the local politicians and other policy makers. throwing tantrums over any issue dealing with sex such as the schools giving away condoms pressuring the local cable companies to drop certain channels and waking you up early every saturday hoping to save you. not to mention the overall mentality and attitude. nate dont come to ut for even an offroad event. heres what ive observed in the two times ive lived in this state. this state is owned and operated by the lds mormon church. subtly they have worked the lds principals into many if not most of the laws and then when someone comments the laws are biased toward lds members they claim religious persecution. case in point a year or so ago a reporter for the salt lake city tribune wrote an article about the persecution of mormons by non-mormons . . unfortunately by the fifth paragraph he was as guilty of bashing non-mormons as he claimed was happening to mormons. this made the whole article a hypocrisy but over the next few days he received rave reviews . . from the lds church leaders. i never saw a single published counterpoint . . .i wonder why the tribune is lds owned. btw the reason for the article he had overheard a non-lds comment that wasnt even directed at him personally . . .in colorado. i am not bashing the mormons though i disagree with their beliefs just stating what i read and have observed. i have been insulted by mormons for no reason other than because im not mormon. i am not saying this is true of all mormons but it is prevalent. my biggest complaint about nc so far are those phucking restrictive covenants. i find it both humorous and aggravating that a state that is soooooo liberal with their gun laws would issue laws controlling how you so much as decorate your own property never mind putting up a separate building such as a garage. this is happening a

any pros or cons for installing headers nothing than the usual header cons - hotter underhood temps more susceptible to gasket leaks could rust out over time.. the power gains are decent however. i say go for it. if youre going to keep the truck for more than a few years id look into having them ceramic coated. either way get a starter heat shield. the drivers side header pipe will pass very close to the starter. stuck starter solenoids suck. youll also want to get different ignition wires - get ones designed for higher temps. the ones i have use heavy silicone boots with a reflective coating on them. havent burned one up yet. how about any sensors on the exhaust system how do i handle them and will it effect the engine unplug the electrical connector then remove the o2 sensors. either use an o2 socket or a box-end or flare-type wrench. what other problems will i run into typical exhaust system problems - rusted bolts clamps... have a good penetrating oil handy as well as several different cutting tools cut-off wheel reciprocating saw etc.. if youre discarding the old system theres no reason to be neat about it. cut what you cant easily unbolt. the stock hangers can sometimes be a bitch - the metal rods with the barb on the end that fit through the rubber isolators... cut the rod at the 90 bend and remove the cut piece with the barb from the other side. its a whole lot easier. when installing new just coat the barb with some grease. the hardest part by far will be installing the headers - not a lot of room to work with around the rear cylinders but its doable done it twice now .

we had the flash done on our 99 5.9 durango. all it did was cut the power in half by retarding the spark. after that the cruise control was even uncomfortable to use because it kept chasing the speed & didnt have the power to maintain highway speed. we took it in 15 times to 3 different dealers and finally they probably reprogrammed it i bet. they said they found a leak in the thermostat gasket but it had a bit more power. that engine just runs too hot with too high of a compression not to ping. it should be run with 89 octane. they mention other tsbs like routing the spark plug wires away from the valve covers & wrapping them up. that has been done to mine but i imagine they are just cheap wires. the spark plugs are garbage too. youll probably be ok just replacing those. my next upgrade will be a cold air intake after i take care of the ball joint defect. i have platinum plugs old wires k&n filter i turned the input for the air box to allow more airflow and i installed one of those 10k resistors inline with the idle air controller to advance the spark and installed a 160deg thermo which is a bit too cold. havent had a ping in over 20k and have a total of 57k on it. all i can say is do not let dc flash that chip youll regret it. exhaust every other option. thanks t yep i meant dc. are they saying what the cause of the pinging is or why folks are losing power with the fix scout .

well... i have a 2003 1500 4.7 5 speed manual 4x4 quad cab sb truck. i like it for what it is. it sure is fun to drive like a sports car and it handles pretty good with the 20 & 275/60/20s under it. my next truck will be a diesel though. i am use to driving a diesel truck and this truck doesnt have enough torque down low for me. but she does move when you wind her out right to the rev. limiter -d -d -d... my fuel economy is pretty bad with my driving style wot over 50% of time and being racey with them little ricers... fun fun fun! -- ======================= nick leinonen nickleinonen@rogers.com markham ontario canada http//community.webshots.com/user/nickleinonen ======================= .. since a group is by nature an open forum i just wanted to voice my opinion on the topic of the 4.7l sohc engine. i have seen a lot of people bash that engine in the ram 1500 quad cab. one poster even suggesting that it is useless at pulling a load in excess of 2000 pounds. i have to wonder if this is opinion or that said posters have actually driven a ram 1500 qc with the 4.7. either that or the automatic transmission dodge is putting in these trucks is a total piece of shit. for what it is worth i have a 2003 dodge ram 1500 quad cab slt 4x4 with the 4.7l sohc engine the 5-speed manual transmission and 3.92 gears in the rearend with the limited slip option. i have had it for 1 month now and have about 4200 miles on the odometer. over the last month i have averaged 15mpg in daily driving it has actually been improving as the miles passed the 2000 mark and the one trip i took to virginia earned me an 18.7mpg. i have a 3200 pound 20 boat and trailer combination that i tow with it regularly and have no trouble maintaining 70mph or better even on a grade. yes i do have to shift a lot to keep the engine in the meat of its powerband and 5th gear is usually out of the question when towing unless the road is completely flat or downhill. as yet i have only two complaints about the truck 1 i find the way the rear end hops at the slightest bumps unnerving dont give me that its a truck crap either my 2000 chevrolet silverado extended cab didnt do this why should the dodge 2 the goodyear all-season tires that came on it suck they will be replaced shortly. so to all considering a truck like this if you know how to drive a stick get one. i have had no power problems with this motor and tranny combination. in fact it is quite quick provided you are not squeemish about revving it to 5500 rpm before shifting. this motor is quite flat below 2000 rpm. in fact it doesnt really wake up until 3000. just my 2 cents but i am quite happy with 4.7l and the 5-speed manual. it is a good combination. i am considering the jba shorty headers volant cold-air induction and a borla exhaust system. if you believe the power gain claims on www.truckperformance.com for these components my truck should be around 300hp with these additions. well see. also centerforce is working on a replacement clutch for this. a centerforce clutch doesnt make anymore horsepower but allows you to put more of it to the rear wheels. ill let you all know how it works out. -- steve - fuquay varina north carolina .

and it wasnt brigham young that was told to abandon the practice of polygamy. it was president wilford woodruff in 1890 that issued the manifesto that suspended plural marriage. of course it took several more years to actual see it stopped in the main lds church. and again another correction. it was several years after the formation of the church that joseph smith started taking plural wives. as you might also recall in the early days of polygamy it was only the men that could support the extra wives that took them on. the splinter groups that do still practice it and then support milking the government for aid are wrong. they should be striving to have no government involvement in their lives. a good author of lds history is d. michael quinn. former byu professor that have been ex. also if you research into the early history of the lds church youll find that it really wasnt that conservative. there is evidence pointing that the church looked the other way in regards to gay relationships. ive seen some research that points to that some of the plural marriages where brought on because the sisters wanted to keep their gay relationships hidden. i will agree that it is a religion like any other religion....based on certain beliefs written and interpreted over the years. got to stay open minded on all issues. religion is a hard one because of the closed mindedness of many believing that their religion is the only correct one and all others are evil. there is good and bad in all religions. its the membership that tends to make a certain religion look bad. see you all in church next sunday eh on thu 24 jul 2003 131258 -0700 pdt ejutah@webtv.net eldon jons wrote nate wrote bigamy was not against the law at that point and when law was passed making it illegal they dropped the policy. frankly i dont see the problem there. i think its also fair to note that the reason they practiced bigamy to begin with was because so many of their men had been killed by other religious fanatics who hated them based upon nothing more than religious differences. actually it is polygamy in utah and the reformed lds church rlds still supports the belief. although it is not supported by the lds church thousands still practice it. since the sister wives arent recognized by the government as being married our tax dollars go to support many of them and their kids. you get 3-6 of these wives living in the same house and the benefits add up. no wonder the polygs as they are called can afford to drive brand new $40000 vehicles. the mormons didnt abandon the practice until it was realized that the us government wouldnt grant statehood to utah as long as they were breaking the law. suddenly brigham young was told by a message from god to abandon the practice....probably the same messenger that told joseph smith to take multiple wives when the religion was formed lol! it is a religion like any other religion....based on certain beliefs written and interpreted over the years. so long.... eldon ; http//community.webtv.net/ejutah/acpictures http//community.webtv.net/sodakid2/allallischalmers rather b. beachen ratherbbeachen@hotmail.com .

dnjta.284957$w.10946449@twister.southeast.rr.com michael@mck.net.com michael@mck.net.com wrote hello all... i have a 2003 ram 2500 with the cummins 5.9l ho engine and the automatic tranny. i have just under 10000 miles on it so far. i have heard of other ram owners with diesel engines claiming that they get close to +/- 20mpg. i dont get anywhere close to this. the best i have ever gotten was 16mpg and on average i get about 14.8 - 15. typical use is highway miles usually empty driver and maybe one small passenger and not towing anything. i typically have the cruise control set at 80mph and the engine tachs at about 2300 at that speed. the crazy thing is that i get almost the exact same mileage when towing a 4000lbs trailer. the power this truck has is truely impressive but i thought i would get a little better mpgs. if there are any other 2003 cummins ho auto-tranny owners out there who track their mileage i would be very interested in what you are getting. thanks! got the low cummins made trip to the city got 21 canadian miles per gallon that would be around 19. temp in high 80s ac working speed doing 65 mph .
