Why doesn't Cummins list the fuel consumption by power like g/kwh or g/hph?

read the post and you will discover the question i answered. is it true kerry & edwards will restart the military draft read here john z kerry president t-bone steak houses -- steve williams near cooperstown ny steve w. wrote its his democratic buddies who drafted and are trying to pass the bill. so if it ever sees the light of day he would probably sign it. wtf you talking about ............ it was charles rangal that sponsored the bill and he certainly isnt a friend of bush. whats really funny it was defeated with only two votes being cast in favor of the bill and rangal voted against his own bill. the jackass was simply trying to stir up trouble. jerry ----== posted via feeds.com - unlimited-uncensored-secure usenet ==---- http//www.feeds.com the #1 group service in the world! 100000 groups ---= east/west-coast server farms - total privacy via encryption =--- .

tbone wrote gee i wonder why traction would be an issue with such a mild motor - did you use their irs and is so is it worth the money i did. its half ffr and half t-bird. it went together really well. very easy to align. i cant tell you how it performas yet but all reports have been good. it really isnt that much more money compared to a rebuilt solid axle with disc brakes. cool but that kinda kills the single donor car idea. since i will not be ordering mine for another year i hope you will get yours out of paint by then and can let me know what you think of the irs. did you do any of the body work yourself or did you leave it all up to the paint shop. did you cut out the holes in the body or did you have ffr do it -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

denny wrote it was one of these deals where i walked into a conversation at the shop where the subject was how tough a bowling ball is. without thinking ole alligator mouth/hummingbird ass chirps up how his model 500 would drill a half inch hole clean thru it or pop it like a ripe watermelon. this debate went on most of a slow friday afternoon. monday morning the bowling ball mouth was asked where the ball is he didnt bring it in. ole am/ha declared the 500 the winner by default. at approx 930 a bowling ball comes rolling thru by bay along with various put up/shut up chants. at noon out in a 10 ft drainage ditch in the back field from about 25 yds the ole bowling ball laughed at this puny little runt of a pistol. tomorrow im taking three guys out for lunch. i need a bigger gun.......... try aiming and hitting one of the holes ........... bet it cracks it. holes cracks......... remember were talking about a bowling ball. jerry .

tom ok i found my instruction sheet and did what you suggested. the auto-loc is no longer in the circuit. nothing changed. still trying to lock-up but not successful. i can force a lock-up by bringing the pcm to tcc line to ground. this would suggest that the tcc is functioning ok. the pcm is not sending a consistent signal. it attempts to go low around 45 mph but wont stay low hence no lock-up. i also pulled the apps and did a continuity check. i did not notice any erratic operation. i dont know what the value should be but ran from approx 500 ohms to about 2k. throttle operation appears to be smooth. i suspect a dtc would be set if it wasnt working correctly. according to the service manual the apps feeds a signal to the ecm which in turn feeds it to the pcm. all of the pcm inputs including the apps would seem to affect other systems so logic would seem to point to the pcm. i guess if thats the case then it will have to go to dodge for service. .

craig christian wrote by your response ... are you honestly suggesting that oil companies are not greedy i dont want oil ... i need oil. we can change that and as a world leader we should be driving the change. and guess what ... there is a good side effect ... the middle east crises will resolve itself. it is easy to think that any company that is in business to make money is greedy. you demand it they supply it. and it is ignorant to think that greed is never involved either. idealistic ... yes but it is possible and neccessary that we move forward faster than we are. which candidiate is going to see to it i think you know who ... neither will. in the short term we need oil and need to cut foreign dependency. and wh can do that quickly if we want to. the left will not allow that to happen. cmplete bs. in the long term we need alternatives. no we need them now. the president can do very little but offer cheap talk. the public has to drive it. and as long as we keep drilling that will never happen that is until we run out when it will be too late. companies are not going to invest billions into new technology unless the public will accept it and buy it. so far the publics demand for it is weak. and as long as we keep oil cheap it will remain that way. demand for hybrids electrics etc. are not very strong. it will take alot more time to get the efficiency and cost down. until then we need oil and not from the middle east. which canidate recognizes that i think you know who... more complete bs. americans are simply spoiled and dont want to give up anything unless they are forced to. if you want new technologies you have to make the old way more expensive or more restrictive and that will not happen if we keep exploiting the worlds resources the way that we are until it is too late. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

azguy wrote on mon 11 oct 2004 072715 gmt nosey kfrei43@removethis.hotmail.com wrote ...and a non-tired engine will use no more oil at 3500 than at 1800. speaking from experience you are wrong. i had a 350 that in normal around town and commuting use would go 1000 miles on a quart. but if i ran it on a high speed trip even for only 200 miles and assuming it was probably already half a quart low to start it would use nearly another quart in that 200 miles. it was like that since i bought it at 24000 miles and it stayed exactly like that up till the time i sold it at 124000 miles. read the comment again. he said a non-tired engine. it wasnt tired. using over a quart of oil every 200 highway miles is not an acceptable consumption rate even by 1967 standards. your 350 engine had significant problems at 24000 miles. this thing must have smoked like a freight train on the highway. it neither smoked nor leaked. it just used quite a bit of oil about a quart every 400 if you read my comments again youll see thats what it adds up to when running long distances at 75 mph.. i must have comprehended what i read other than what you intended. even if it only used a quart per 400 miles you would never have to change the oil. it would burn 5 quarts every 2000 miles. this is still not acceptable oil consumption and shouldnt be offered as an example of normal. it sounds like you had the exact same problem outlined in the original question. using one quart of oil in 200 highway miles adds up to using 4 quarts in 800 miles. i suck at math and even i could figure that one out. yup but as my post said it was about a half quart used on the trip not the entire quart. in any case i think you are missing the point i was putting forth which is that its possible for an engine with nothing wrong other then using more oil then is typical with it to burn that much oil and not smoke. i put 100000 additional miles on mine and it never changed in how it performed and always ran like a top it just used more oil then it should. oil is a heck of a lot cheaper then an engine rebuild that will do nothing but save you the cost of a quart of oil a month. would you spend $2000-3000 to rebuild an engine that didnt foul its plugs or fail emissions or do anything bad but use a little too much oil maybe you would. i certainly wouldnt. you must have missed my point. burning that much oil means there is a problem. just because you decided not to fix it doesnt change that fact. .

guys i should have named this thread what motor would you replace your cummins 5.9 with to improve economy while not loosing any performance on second thought hands down my vote would be for a deutz bf4m2013c displacing 3.8 liters and producing 168hp and 457 pounds of torque. this is very much in line with what my stock 12v cummins produces. the hp rating of this deutz is for an rpm of 2500 where as the cummins 5.9 12v might be a little higher. not to mention i dont have an excuse to rev past 2500 rpm. could you imagine the economical benefits of having less displacement its marketed at producing this kind of power while consuming only 198 g/kwh!!! that raises my eyebrows. stuart .

the thing is that most of these drugs are made in america already. they are exported to canada at a reduced cost iirc because the canadian government put restrictions on the pricing. it would cost no american jobs to allow these imports. what it will do is cut down a few of the billions in profits that these drug companies make so you are right the drug companies are behind it. an interesting theory there bonehead....errrr t-bone. and what is your theory on ufos and crop circles john z kerry president t-bone steak houses .

montanajeeper wrote thanks for the tips so far. i put one of the cobra 75wxst like tom mentioned in my wifes car with a lil-wil wilson 500 on the trunk lid. would think it would not be very effective but that little radio will get out with a 5 mile radius and be clear on just about any day. in the truck i mounted the radio over the ash tray which i dont use but i have 99 so dont know how much is different in the dash layouts. the coax from the mag mount wilson i simply ran down the door jam rear and about half way down used a piece of duct tape to hole the coax taught. the door weather strip seems to seal from moister and wind and it has been there for almost 5 years now and never once pinched the coax or leaked rain. i completed the coax run by removing the door rocker panel and running the coax under that up to the dash and then around to the radio. all filters oil fuel and air i also buy from genos. oil is from walmart which is rotella or delo 500. i did run royal purple during one change but that was because i was going up to denver and the temperatures were well below zero and i knew i couldnt plug in the block heater at night. dont know if it made a difference or not but made me feel better. never the less i still changed it out after 7000 miles. jerry .
