welcome to the dodge dakota lemon club! i have a 2002 that has had some of the same problems and many more. i filed a lemon law suit and got cash for my troubles. excuse me - but when you have a perfectly good working truck then tear the whole dash out put it back and all of a sudden have several seemingly unrelated electrical problems its not because the truck is a lemon. the idle problem is caused by the programing of the pcm. and this programming got changed by him replacing the heater core .

if you have a kick stand. just push it down to touch the ground in the detector area. al stephen harding smharding16@msn.com wrote trey wrote that is especially frustrating on the motorcycle since most the time i dont have enough steel to trip the lights... i will see the smart lights cycle though a few times skipping me since it doesnt see anyone in that lane. yeah i bicycle commute so the problem can be even more pronounced. they say you can try leaning the bike over a bit to help the light recognize youre there. more detectable magnetic field no matter never seems to work. and not effective if the bicycle is aluminum or on a motorcycle that you can only lean over so far. maybe a motorcycle lying on its side might trip the light. probably best not to try! smh arold al green .

many of you have responded in a way that i anticipated except beekeep. he obviously knows me well. yes i was on the rag. one response indicated that a dealer chose to be more expensive. what a stupid statement. independents are not required to pay 3k+ a month in special tools. they are not required to send techs to special training on the vehicle you payed 40k+ for. a dealer is. how do you think they cover the cost for this expertise and special equipment you may feel i have a bad attitude and wouldnt want me working on your vehicle. your choice. youre the idiot that forgot this was a ng and not the real world. i feel i am pretty damn responsible and professional if i direct my frustrations on the ng and not the customer. dont you have frustrations that need vented in your profession we all do. duhhh!! you dumbshits. this is the better place to do it you just dont like the reality of it. brent i for one appreciate my local 5 star techs. i hate the dealership bankston hwy-67 and camp wisdom though. they do most of the regular mait. on all my dodge trucks. but i refuse to buy a vehicle from them. ill pay the extra money for service. its worth it too me to have a pro do it right rather than some fly-by-night mechanic doing it wrong. also if they didnt fix the problem i have never been charged anymore labor money by dodge to complete the service. although this rarely happens anymore since automotive has computerized. course i also fix their computers and we charge allot of money for that service. but we are all factory trained techs too and with hp dell cisco and sun i have to recertify every year to maintain my certifications. you get what you pay for. sure you can save money. or you can get the job done right most of the time the first time. -- moparman---remove clothes to reply! --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- .

iirc that connection operates a relay that disables the starter so you might want to follow the wire and see where it is going. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving its the starter - labelled terminal on the carbine alarm. thanx bob .

craig@metronet.com wrote hi all the last post regarding bio-diesel was back in early february. just wondering if anyone has read/heard/experienced anything about this im in dallas and there is a bio-diesel producer here that has two stations one in addison and one in denton i think. both of which pump b100 i.e. 100% not blended. and in a small area south of dallas carls corner willy nelson supposedly has a filling station that pumps b20 20% bio 80% petroleum. i read that cummins endorses up to 5% blend. the company that has the two stations here in dallas pull around a portable tank filled with bio-diesel with a ram 3500 that runs b100 with no problem. i suspect that the reason cummins endorses a 5% blend is that bosch who makes the injection systems used on cummins engines last time i looked endorses a 5% blend. when it comes to fuel i have found bosch to be extremely conservative when it comes to alternative fuels. when i talked to a bosch engineer about possible modifications required for running vegetable oil i was told i should go look up envirocrackpots.com. this is boschs corporate attitude toward alternative fuels. basically its a case of we dont care we dont have to were the largest manufacturer of diesel injection equipment in the world we have you by the short-and-curlies and we know it. i have gotten this feeling from bosch every time ive dealt with them about anything. ive been running b100 in my two old trucks with no problems and the only thing ive had to do was replace old rubber fuel lines with new synthetic ones. and this is on mid 1980s isuzu engines with v type rotary pumps. my feeling on it is that you should be able to run b100 with no problems and youll probably find that your trucks run better on it. mine do. ap .

hvac fella wrote just bought this and both headlight lenses look cloudy inside ; im wondering if they are frosted from the factory like this or if they are messed up the parking light lense which is part of the headlight assembly is crystal clear. lastly has anyone successfully removed the headlight lense only for cleaning thanks dave i dont believe they were like that new. i have the identical problem on my 96 ram 2500. they are plastic and i think either uv or heat is the problem with the headlight. i had to replace a headlight lens on my interpid $60.00 cdn from a jobber $200+ from a dealer but it was clearer than the old one. i dont think removing the lens for cleaning will be successful. i am going to look into the cost of new lights because they are getting pretty dim for night driving and i work midnights. ljb .

the ability to rotate is normal but it should take some effort. with your hand or with some vice grips you should be able to rotate it 30-45deg. if you can do it with two fingers then its probably worn out. ld yeah by hand not real loose but i can pivot it with a little force. makes sense to me. thanks ld. i just wanted to eliminate that as the knocking problem i think it is the steering shaft. i have been getting a forward and back clunk felt in the steering wheel after i drive it a few miles during breaking and accelerating when the nose dips or lifts. .
