you always have the best information. are you a dodge technician or service manager neither... im a computer geek. i just enjoy working on my vehicles. i find the smell of grease and the busted knuckles offsets the pocket protector and taped-up glasses. .

ive been looking for a quiet highway tire that will never leave asphalt. i finally found another option for a 17 load range e tire for my truck. firestone now makes their transforce ht in a 10 ply version. http//www.bridgestonetire.com/tireselector/dpp/sizespecs.asppassproductid=1097 tirerack.com rated this tire better than the michelin ltx a/s in every category. http//www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsptype=has&width=265/&ratio=70&diameter=17&vt=null&sortvalue=0 even though tirerack does not show this tire in 265/70/17 it is available at firestone dealers in 10 ply at $140 each. does anyone here have any experience with this tire how accurate do you think tireracks surveys are thanks john .

---snip--- cummins has been in dodge trucks for a while now and have built up a reputation as building a rock solid small truck motor that will easily outlast the rest of the truck and in many cases is the reason why people bought the dodge at all. the 360 in my 92 is going to outlast the rest of the truck. is that a reflection of a good engine or a crappy truck the 318 in my 90 d150 is going to outlast the rest of the truck too hope my 04 is built better than the older trucks. al 92 w250 360 5 speed 4x4 04 2500 600 ctd six speed 4x4 .

when i replied i was under the impression that the poster was asking about leaving the drivers door open. i now see that he probably wants to have any or all doors open without hearing the chime. its more work but it still has to be done by spoofing each door ajar sensor as the chime is integrated into the instrument cluster and cant be easily disabled on its own. in this case one could obtain all four wires at the instrument cluster connector. to remove the instrument cluster remove the two screws that hold the cluster bezel in place. these are on the underside of the bezel and youll need a short stubby phillips to get them out. once the bezel is removed four screws hold the cluster in place. pull the cluster forward and disconnect the electrical connectors. of the three cluster connectors youre looking for the 26-pin gray connector. pins 1-4 are the four door sense circuits 1 - violet drivers door 2 - violet/gray left rear door 3 - violet/yellow right rear door 4 - violet/white right rear door. again depending on the operation of the door latch youll either need to tap into all four wires and switch them to ground or cut all four wires and insert a switch into the electrical path. my guess would be that the circuits are grounded when the door is closed but double-check just in case. if they are grounded when the door is closed resist the temptation to just tap all four to the same spst switch. youll disable you door ajar sensors completely this way unless all four are opened. you need to use a 4-pole switch probably need to go to an electrical supply place for this - not something radio shack would carry. .

suddenly without warning denny exclaimed 06-sep-06 944 pm suddenly without warning fmb exclaimed 05-sep-06 1153 pm suddenly without warning bryan exclaimed 05-sep-06 325 am jmc wrote pretty annoyed my truck seems to be failing by bits. jmc my experience with a failed cap was the rubber washer. it had swollen and wouldnt allow coolant to enter from the coolant recovery tank. in 32f/0c weather the engines temperature would swing wildy. lesson replace the !$%^&* cap when doing cooling system maintenance. that reminds me... per snomans advice i gots to step up to 80/20% coolant/water. while im at it ill tighten the front pump bolts on my manual trans to 150 ft/lb and replace the knock sensor on my v10. after all hes the exspurt ie formerly a drip under pressure. bryan ;- hmmm. the maximum allowed according to my trucks manual is 70/30. dunno what happens if thats exceeded though. jmc if you have been reading all the recent activity here in the garage you would see bryan is poking fun at snoman aka; snowidiot anus asshole snip one of his latest rants was on the % of coolant to use. if you read him at all remember it is just for its hollywood entertainment value. fmb n mexico ps get those pics online please. yea i have been mostly by accident. guess i didnt have my sarcasm radar on pics are up at http//australia.jodi.ws - click on east macdonnell ranges... enjoy! jmc this links works perfect tho. those are some awesome looking rocks much different that what i look at in ohio. is a redback a spider or what kind of critter denny a redback is a black widow with red lightning on top. makes it handy for id- you can tell what it is from both sides . theyre just as dangerous as black widows and infinitely more common here. jmc .

was running fine during routine shopping. when my wife came out of store the engine would not crank. fuel is no problem it has new fuel pump. i have replaced crank and cam sensors also plugged in new asd relay to no avail. changed coil pack. when i check the firing at plugs it hits one heavy spark and no more at each try. only hits again after ignition is turned off and then back on. please respond with any suggestion. .

on my 99 ram quadcab its a plunger on the verticle portion of the a-pillar and the chime doesnt sound when i have the key in the accessory position. i want to be able to play music while the doors are open and the key in the igninion on accessory. past autos had a button switch that could be forced closed one way or another while door was open. i assume there is a hidded switch/sensor somewhere. how do i over-ride it. .

as they say if it aint broke dont fix it. if you really have 288k miles on it already the lifters should be the least of your concerns. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving does anyone know the approximate life of the dodge 318 c.i hyd lifter my 1996 ram 1500 4x2 has 288k miles on it and i was wondering if i should replace the lifters. i am not having problems with it however i would like to keep this truck on the road for as long as possible! any information would be a great help to me. thanks david .
