Q: on 19 jan 2006 141523 -0800 mr burns briansantoro@yahoo.com wrote find out if your dodge dealer will replace it for free. i just got a letter here in ontario canada from dodge saying that if mine fails the etest they will replace the cat for free. mine is a 99 dakota had the cat replace about 2-3 year into owning it. the letter says the warranty period has been extended to dec 302006 or 10years or 200000km which ever is later. in addition it says if i fail the e-test before dec 302007 due to defective cat or abd test with cat effieciency cod the cat will be replaced free of charge. too bad they wont extend it to the crappy bolts holding the exhaust manifold on. kilmister thanks ill check it out. i checked a few months ago and at that time it was eight years or 80000 miles. i was just over on both. but maybe it has been extended. .

i did not really look at the speedometer. i will now. thanks dean frank boettcher wrote on 20 jan 2006 033101 -0800 dapecota dapecota@hotmail.com wrote hi my dakotas abs brakes have the following odd behavior when the vehicle is about to stop the brakes rapidly pulse click drop pressure which is quickly recovered when a servo motor kicks in with a loud buzz. it only happens when you are just about stopped very low speed. the brakes are smooth and stop normal at all other times. it cannot be normal operation for a brake system. no warning lights come on at any time. has anyone had this behavior before any ideas on what is wrong dean yes. it was a failed speed sensor located on the differential housing however for confirmation you can have the dealer put it on the diagnostic and it will confirm that as the problem rather than any other component of the anti-lock brake system. is your speedometer becoming somewhat erratic no indication at low speed then jumping up to the correct speed another sympton of the sensor failure. frank .

jeremy politicalincorrectness@gmail.com wrote merry christmas yall! havent read the group much lately here but always was able to find the help i needed here before and i had a few questions for yall on the cummins diesel. i just bought an 05 2500 earlier this year and they took care of the first oil change for me but its that time again and im a little lost. i had a 360 gas engine in a 94 1500 before and got to know it pretty well but i cannot find the oil filter on the diesel yet. i also noticed that the drain plug looks to be a square indention rather than a normal bolt head so it looks like i need a new tool. anyone have any ideas on either of these for me the indention is a 3/8 square drive your 3/8 ratchet wrench will fit. dont overtighten. the oil filter is on the right side of the motor near the air box infact the duct work to the turbo runs next to it. additionally im supposed to have the engine block heater installed but it didnt come with the cord to hook it up. so ive got the cord now but i dont know where it hooks into the heater at. can anyone point me in the right direction the engine block heater is next to the oil filter has a black cover screwed over it. remove the cover and chunk it. then screw the cord on thats it. thanks for your time and hope yall have a great christmas! -jeremy www.dieseltruckresource.com im manganos on there. congrats and welcome to our moneypit! .
