you might connect a battery powered dremel tool to the odometer and have it spin much faster than your actual speed over the ground - you should get really good mileage then. ever since the gear went in my odometer my mpg has really gotten bad. any ideas beekeep .

hi everyone i own a 1998 dakota ex-cab w/ 3.9l engine and it has about 100000 miles on it. all fluids are topped up and clean. now i have experienced a loud knocking noise in my front end the last few days but it isnt continuous. at least once a day the front end will make a loud knocking noise about 3-8 times under my feet then stop. i took it to the mechanic naturally it doesnt do it when he takes it outand after a test drive and checking it out on the hoist he has no idea. one thing i did notice tonight after it knocked while coming home was that the pullies in the engine were squealing slightly after i parked it and left it running. any ideas would be appreciated before someone decides to take me to the cleaners for repairs. thanks. .

suddenly without warning phil rhodes exclaimed 17-jan-07 515 am my wifes blazer was prowled last night and while they didnt take anything they obviously looked for something to take. what little that was in the car was tossed around inside. and they tried to jimmy her the club that was on the steering wheel but only resulted in freezing it so we had to call a locksmith to drill it out. this is the 4th prowl in the last couple years - the first two times they broke windows to get in. when i asked the window guy why arent windows harder to break he said safety you might want to get out!. so i guess she needs a new car. what type of car/truck is prowled the least can i get it with bullet proof windows that cant be smashed one of our neighbors discovered the cure to car prowlers. german shepard and a cricket bat well we are in australia. didnt know the pasttime had a name but a pair of indigenous locals had been preying on our little mostly-american apartment complex for a while. fortunately they were the quiet type and didnt break windows. just checked all the cars and back yards they could get into for something portable. once in a while would fall asleep in an unlocked car. once they lobbed a golf ball over the fence and shattered the neighbors solar water heater. the guys musta thought our neighbor was lying in wait. the wife was watching tv at around 1am all the lights were off in the house hubby had just gone to bed. she saw them called her husband down who ran outside with titan the dog whos actually just this side of a big furry wuss g and the aforementioned cricket bat. chased one over the fence. the way he tells the story is that he invited the guy back over the fence but he wouldnt anyway since that day a month or so ago weve not had one incident. before we were having incidents and/or sightings sometimes multiple times a week. damn crazy americans! oh sorry cant answer your question except something old and decrepit with nothing of value kept inside. a loud alarm system might be better than bullet-proof glass you might just save your wifes life by not going for unbreakable glass. or you could leave the doors unlocked and nothing valuable inside... which is what some folks do here i figure that just encourages repeat offenders here but in your case it might help. jmc .

now that cold has finally come to houston my air bag light comes on and stays on after the truck is started preceded by 4 chimes what does 4 chimes indicate a loose connection brought on by the cold it has done this intermittently since i bought the truck new to me in 2000 only when the outside temp drops like it is now 30 degrees with the heater on after the cab gets good and warm the light may go out. thanks curtis in houston tx .
