What is the gas mileage of the 4.7 L Dakota?

From : crb

Q: someone is lightly tapping the steering column with a rubber hammer. its sporadic and holds no type of rhythm. so the guy in the shop says well your upper and lower ball joints have some play in it your tie-rod end has some play in it your wheel bearings have some play in it your track bar has some play in it. so i assumed he knew what he was taking about.... so after finding out that my guardian insurance plan paid for almost $600 of these repairs i had him do it all. the problem is still there. i couldnt believe it. i almost have a brand new front end basically. but yet the thumping knocking general unsafe feeling is still there. i just put new rotors calipers and pads on the front both sides. so its not a break vibration. i dont know much about this part of the truck so do you guys have any suggestions on where this could be coming from thanks steve you could check out these tsbs steering - 19-08-97 19-13-97 and break pedal - -5-08-96 also someone mentioned trackbar. i checked mine as per a previous poster and it has about 1/8 inch of play. . 222 303346 1121834613.617966.296030@g49g2000cwa.googlegroups.com we were driving a rental d-go a couple of weeks ago and i didnt realize the engine quit until i had no steering. .

regarding my comment about the loudness of the ford ... i guess i should further quailfy it. i do love the sound of a diesel. something about the glug glug glug ... however the ford sounds tinny. very high pitched and loud. i prefer the quieter although not too quiet and deeper sounds of the cummins. speaking of quiet diesels ... i was with my gal looking at the new jeep liberty with the 2.8 crd in it ... unless you are really listening closely you cant tell its a diesel. in fact she asked me after i fired it up if we were test driving the 3.7. craig c. .

tbone said the ice cube is weightless in the water as it is floating . the glass of water will weigh more because you have increased the mass contained within the glass. there is no magic here. you really need to think outside of the box every now and then. im trying to think outside of the box about this but this is just simple reasoning and there is no outside the box on this. this is not about the concept of some esoteric thing like the appreciation of classical music or the appreciation of the red rose in american poetry since 1957 this is a simple law of nature. everyone seems to be argueing about just semantics or more likely just trolling. in an attempt to clear this up lets do a little thought experiment. 1 place an ice cube on a scale...it has weight say 20g 2 remove the ice cube and place a container of water on the scale... it has weight say 200g 3 now float the 20g ice cube in the 200g of water. the scale will measure a weight of 220g. although the ice cube is floating in the water we have absolutely no problem in measuring its weight. this is not mass we are measuring here we are using a scale so we are in fact measuring the weight of the ice cube even though it is floating in the water. because that is what scales measure. i find no way to get outside the box here it is a simple law of nature there is no wiggle room about the basic law. the most we can do is to argue about the actual meanings of words. perhaps what you are attempting to say is that in the frame of reference to the water it is floating in the ice cube is weightless. that is true but in the larger frame of reference of the world the ice cube still has weight. so what we are doing here is nitpicking semantics. regards jrc .

i have a 2001 qc configured just like macs but with a 5-speed purchased new 5/2001. i have averaged right at 17mpg over 20000 miles mostly expressway and in-town driving. i usually get 15-16mpg in the city low 20s on highway not towing if i keep it under 65. just returned pulling a 1500 lb. popup trailer dry weight 370 miles. kept speed 65mph or under and got between 17 and 18 mpg. thats with 4 passengers total passenger weight 550+ lbs. and running a/c the whole time. --morgan im leaning toward buying one of these. i think the salesman bs about the 5.7 l hemi getting the mileage was a joke. .
