jeff mayner wrote langerhans wrote snip what is the accelerator fly-by-wire throttle reset. since there is no physical connection like a cable from pedal to throttle i call it a fly-by-wire system. similar to the new aircraft which use electronic servo systems to control hydraulic valves instead of cables and pushrods. to do it to your truck with engine off turn key to first position. wait for idiot lights to extinguish. press pedal down to the floor then let it up. turn key back to off position. you just taught the pcm the limits of travel of your pedal. there are probably others here who are better equipped to explain the hows and whys. .

thanks! to bad its not a little louder with the windows down and a diesel pruuing along in front of you its a little hard to hear it - and i am sure it wasnt a low fuel or service indicator or.. etc... david if you leave your blinker on for an extended period of time yes your chime will sound to let you know that its on. ive done it numerous times and after a while the chime will start. wondered what it was at first but turned the blinker off and it stopped.... aha! i have 97 grand caravan. -s on 6/18/05 106 am david wrote i exited the freeway the other day on a long gradual curve of an exit. i straightened out and stayed in my lane then noticed the blinker was still on. at the same time that i was reaching for the lever i heard a chime same as when the keys are in the ignition the door is open etc... i quickly looked at my overhead console and the instrument panel to see if there were any visabale indicators there wasnt... so im wondering if theres some sort of audible notification that the blinker has been on for an excessive length of time ram 2500 2005 cummins 4x4. thanks david... -- timpani! take your drums to brooklyn play the same volume youll be fine. -otto werner mueller on my piannissimo entrance in a juilliard orchestra rehearsal c. 1997 remove spamoff from email address to reply. .

oh poor widdle t-boner hes being picked on poor baby god forbid anybody disagree with you on anything. your 60 second wide open stall condition just makes no sense. if the truck cannot move under full throttle then it will never pull the boat up the ramp never mind 60 seconds. now i see that there were two others that also didnt agree with what you said but i see no negative response from you to them why not i also said that it was my o p i n i o n that if the transmission cannot deal with some strain on occasion then it should not be in a truck not a recommendation to anyone and others have agreed. grow up dude. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving you need to come over to our local lake and watch and listen some sunday evening but hey you know it all you advise everyone on their transmission problems ill just sit back and punch holes in your advice from here on out ok go for it bucko you seem to know almost as much as front pump snoman you really need to step within the realm of reality gary. the 60 seconds that i gave is really about 4 times the actual time it takes to pull a boat up the ramp at least all of the ones that i used and why would you ever use full throttle if the ramp it that steep or the truck is that under powered for the boat that you are trying to launch then even a trans cooler is not going to help you not to mention that if you really needed full throttle i doubt that you would ever get enough traction to pull the boat out even with 4 wheel drive. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving go ahead do a full-throttle stall on the transmission of your choice for a full sixty seconds several times a month none of them will handle it without auxiliary cooling and regular fluid changes tc temps can spike in the 4-500 degree range under those conditions he need a realistic gear ratio in the ass-end and probably 4wd to deal with wet ramps plus a honking big cooler a 4wd pan if its 2wd and maybe a 50-50 mix of the recommended fluid and mobilone 5-20 synthetic engine oil in it i may be no transmission expert but i must say that if the trans is really that wimpy that it cant take around 60 seconds worth of effort a few times a month without damage then it really has no business being in a truck at all. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving its not the 1 mile to and from thats gonna kill the transmission its the full-stall start on a ramp with no forward speed to help cool it on 14 jun 2005 115414 -0700 hubmachineatgmail.com hubmachine@gmail.com wrote mac thanks for your reply. i was wondering if i might need a transmission cooler. what size would you recommend the boat is on a dual axle trailer twin 115 outboards. would you recommend a brand cliff hubbard wow thats a lot of boat! the trailer must weight about what my boat did.. lol like some others have said if youre only hauling it 1 mile each way i dont think you need a cooler... the problem would be your initial tow to bring it home... and it might be cheaper to rent a truck or borrow a friends and fill the tank than t add something to your truck that you dont need..ymmv mac please remove splinters before emailing .

sounds plausible but also sounds like dont bother us your warrantee is out in less than 800 miles. huh youre got 7/70 on the powertrain... .

well took the service writer on a short trip to have him hear what i was hearing in the tranny/rear end. he says that all the trucks have a range of speed at which this whine develops. sounds plausible but also sounds like dont bother us your warrantee is out in less than 800 miles. dont remember hearing it originally or even in the first 30k miles. only recently. input gary .

go ahead do a full-throttle stall on the transmission of your choice for a full sixty seconds several times a month who the hell uses full throttle for a full minute nonetheless on a boat ramp .
