i have a 64 taveco motor home on a 63 dodge truck chaise and am having problems with the brake system. question is it possible to update the entire brake system to something more modern. instead of having the traditional brake booster master cylinder combination up at the brake pedal assy. there are a set of twin bake boosters back along the frame on the drivers side. can all this be replaced with a traditional booster/cylinder system reply to yohanus@dslextreme.com please .

on tue 16 nov 2004 154418 gmt budd cochran mr-d150@citlinkspam.net wrote true they do make sense but the reason to open the country up to potential destruction by naturalized citizens with ulterior motives doesnt make sense. the time it takes for an amendment to pass is limited to how long it takes to read it and pass it. it does not have to go thru committees or any kind of review. a point of fact most of the very earliest laws passed were passed in less than a day and without computers. iirc greg youre a vet and i for one would not want to see your service or my sons or anyones time wasted by such an amendment. -- budd iirc all 50 states have to ratify a constitutional amendment. many amendments have been proposed but seldom do they even get through congress or are even brought up for a vote. true and most are much more anti-american than this idea. no i am not a vet my number was 267 in the draft lottery and i was never called. while an all expense paid trip to nam was tempting i guess i wasnt all that adventurus. lol the reason i went national guard was my number was up as in getting married and abandoning a deferement to care for my mother who had gone into remission on her cancer and i had been told not to go to a war we were not going to be allowed to win. personally i think that your letter writting time would be better spent trying to eliminate contingicy fees for medical lawsuits. if the plaintif had to put up at risk front money for attorney fees 98% of the lawsuits would never be filed. i would guess that 75 - 80% of any medical bill is malpractice insurance. the common man should be able to go to a doctor for a reasonable fee. as a type 2 diabetic heart patient etc. id like to see a sensible national medical program for all citizens but not that screwed up mess hillary had concocted. while im on a rant - heres an amendment proposal make it illegal for a congressman or senator to have a law degree. its a conflict of interest. lol since the design of our government is such that the average citizen could function as a representative senator or any other elected position i have to agree but lets put them on the clock with a reasonable hourly wage as well. whaddaya think time to get our tax dollars worth. beekeep budd .

tbone wrote sure i did. you just chose in your oh so typical childish maner to delete it and pretend that it never existed. nope. you gave no valid viable reason to alter our constitution. no need to change the constitution unless it is to solve some problem or make a great improvement for our country. your statements would do neither. wouldnt someone under age 35 only be a bad choice if the american voters are a bunch of idiots spin spin spin. why would the intelligence of the voters make someones age either a good or bad choice thats my point. why do we need any rules at all as to who can run for president dont you trust the intellegence of the voter or are they idiots that need some rules in place. the rules you said a few posts ago were ok. wouldnt someone with less than 14 years residency only be a bad choice if the american voters are a bunch of idiots spin spin spin. why would the intelligence of the voters make someone length of residency either a good or bad choice rofl...talk about spin here bonehead. it is you tommy that insists that some rules are ok others are not. yet you call voters idiots who would need such rules in place. spin spin spin. that still has nothing to do with the topic at hand since if they were not allowed to run in the first place term limits have no effect on them. what its one of the rules for who can run in any given election. you are the one that made the claim that voters must be idiots if they cant vote wisely regardless of such rules. therefore why should there be any rules at all are voters idiots only about certain issues in which case a rule is needed i think that it is you that needs to stay focused and stop the desperate childish spinning. face it miles the above rules with the exception of term limits all serve a valid purpose and combined more than eliminate the need for being born here to be one of them and you have yet to show anything different. valid purpose they still have to be elected regardless of any rules. you calling american voters idiots because they need these rules in place no the extreem right are really just a bunch of short sighted cowards that feel that the world is against them and need to be protected by currently meaningless rules. and its the extrememe left that constantly wants gov. to create laws and issue handouts to protect and provide for their every need. both are nuts. now the fact that everything that doesnt agree with you is some warped liberal idea really shows just how biased and warped you really are. no not everything tommy. just your warped ideas. .

mileage for the big gas v8 imo really isnt that far from normal. maybe 1-2 mpg below what a lot of us are getting. pull all the plugs and have your mechanic run a compression test on it. at 135k miles you could be due for a valve job. for about twice the cost of a valve job you could have the lower end replace piston rings and hone cylinder walls + while were in there do the rod crank & cam bearings too. while were at it your cam could be getting flat throw another 2-3 hundred more at it and replace the cam lifters and valve springs too. yes it adds up but still lots cheaper than a salvage yard rebuilt long block. if you can tear it down yourself you can prolly get the machine shop work done for $3-400 bux throw another $150 at it + an overhaul gasket set and they may even reassemble it for you. to get the dash off pull out completely the cupholder and ashtray then remove screws inside the cupholder and ashtray slides then grab hold of the dash panel top edge and pull. watch out for wire to the lighter socket. it unplugs but youll need to have the dash panel loose before you can reach it. some clear rtv silicone sealant works well for solving rear window seal leaks. be sure things are well ventilated when using this stuff very flammable and fumes can be toxic. solenoid chatter in the electric door lock mechanism could simply be binding up and need a little lithium grease. worth a look/worth a try. dont use wd40. wd40 works ok as a hand cleaner but is a piss-poor lubricant a new truck is easily $25-$30k + interest + higher insurance. major engine overhaul is one 10th of that. writes a few ideas. the door lock/latch mechanism needs to be replaced. i had this happen a couple of times. for the lack of power some things to check put on a vacuum meter and check if its low. have the egr system checked out. have a mechanic put a manual guage on the fuel rail and check rail pressure. check the o2 sensors i you have a 3 way cat make sure the recirc line is intact and not rusted away. these are all things ive had to battle in the past. on thu 18 nov 2004 135230 -0600 carl chipman cchipman@nomadics.com wrote hey guys used to hang out on this forum right when i bought my truck five years or so ago but have dropped off till recently...however my 1999 dodge ram qc long bed is getting old and has 135000 miles on it in ive got the 5.9l v8 and gas mileage is pretty bad in the 12-13 on the highway and 10-12 around town... if im pulling something its falling down to 9 mpg. in short it sucks... does anyone have any advice.. ive just recently replaced the distributor cap well actually my mechanic did and weve run fuel injector cleaner...spark plugs and wires are only 20k miles old...air filter was replaced recently. im lost... what can i do to get the mileage and power back up also its got other small problems... in the top console one of the push button lights has gone out and i cant figure how to get the console off to replace the bulb... the electronic door lock on the passenger side door is also no longer working and when you attempt to lock it it makes a whirring noise and tries to lock but usually doesnt. finally the seal on the back window is leaking and i cant figure out how to just order a new seal. the dodge dealership says i have to order a whole new back window assembly for around $400... yikes!! help! does anyone have a good book to recommend tia carl chipman .

my 94 ram 1500 5.2l runs like crap when i first fire it up after it sits for a while. the idle is rough and kinda reminds me of the idle lope of a big cammed street engine. it also surges as it warms. by the time the temp guage starts to move it smoothes out and runs real well but feels like its missing or choking out until then. the truck has a brand new thermostat coolant temp sensor o2 sensor cat air filter fuel pump fairly fresh plugs and wires new egr valve and a new pcv valve. it also has a normal manifold vaccuum reading and is not displaying any computer trouble codes. running out of ideas somebody help! thanks! take a compression check on the engine when it is cold. maybe some exhaust valves are sticking in the guides when cold. did this start all of a sudden or gradually get worse denny .
