get real!!! idling the engine in your driveway will not lead to ruinous overheating...you dont need to run it at 90 on the freeway to achieve the desired result! thank you! i give it a try. that will be the easiest fix ive had in a long time. im gonna recommend that you not do this. running the cooling system unpressurized will lead to overheating. the gurgling sound is air in the heater core. run the truck for a few days and the heating-cooling of the system will eventually work the air out. the gurgling is fairly common after a cooling system has been open. denny .

i think the problem was the instructions were lacking detail. most of us knew what the poster meant obviously some didnt. running it up to temp w/the cap off did not suggest to many of us at least not to me that the poster meant to drive around w/the cap off. the problem of course was air in the system. by allowing it to reach temperature idling in the driveway for clarity the stat will eventually open and the coolant will circulate. the trapped air would then logically make its way around to the radiator and bubble out the open cap. jeeze. w/some horses it is not only necessary to lead them to water but occasionally go so far as to hold their head under while applying suction to their backside ;- curmudgeon@noway.com writes get real!!! idling the engine in your driveway will not lead to ruinous overheating...you dont need to run it at 90 on the freeway to achieve the desired result! thank you! i give it a try. that will be the easiest fix ive had in a long time. im gonna recommend that you not do this. running the cooling system unpressurized will lead to overheating. the gurgling sound is air in the heater core. run the truck for a few days and the heating-cooling of the system will eventually work the air out. the gurgling is fairly common after a cooling system has been open. denny .

they make a tool called a air lift.it puts a vacume on the system prior to filling.ive had one now for 2 years.the most handy tool since the air ratchet .
