are you sure that it was battery acid and not delamination well its in a drip-type pattern down the left front fender. pretty sure what happened there just the 97s or with my luck my particular truck. what color is yours blue/gray. or in mopar-speak dark pearl blue/light satin driftwood. uh huh... looks gray to me. .

for cryin out loud................ both calipers plus both hoses will cost you around 80 bucks 24 and change each for the cals and about 16 each for the hoses throw in a good set of pads and youre still under $ 100 just do it fer chrissakes do you know if there is any recall or tsbs on the calipers or should i just go to napa or somewhere and buy them and replace them myself thanks for the quick answer. tom yeah replace both front calipers and both front hoses and get on with life i just bought a used 2003 dak quad cab.25000 miles. it pulled to the right when i test drove it dealer said he would align it still pulled to the right. i took it to another shop and they realigned it it still pulled the right so they checked it again and it still does it. it does not pull any worse when you apply the brakes it just takes a slight pressure on the steering wheel to keep it from running off the road on the right side. it even does it if you drive on the wrong side of the road where the crown of the road should make it pull slightly to the left. any ideas the last shop thought it might be a bad brake caliper the right side pad seems to be worn a little more than the left. i already checked/greased the caliper slide bolts. does anyone have any other suggestions tia tom .

the best bet would be to have a reciever hitch installed and then use a shackle with the reciever hitch.. if thats not going to happen i have pulled a few trucks out of messes with a tow strap hooked to one of the frame rails about a foot in from the rear bumper. a friend of mine pulled a tree stump with three motorcycles dont ask so i would think a dakota would do just fine. i have an 05 dakota 4x4 qc and had a question about something. i was planning on doing some yardwork in the next few days and have a few bushes to take out. i was wondering if it would be ok to dig around them and then chain them to the truck and where would be the best place to attach them to the truck. would it damage the truck to pull too hard or can a dakota even handle something like pulling stumps thanks for your help .

tom lawrence wrote anyone know if they are ever going to install the 6.1 hemi in the ram. id expect it for the 07 model year possibly even the 06.5 usually available in jan. it was always the plan to have the bigger hemi be the replacement for the v10. it just took longer than originally anticipated for the 6.1 to see the light of day the same was true for the 5.7 hemi which is why the 3rd gen 1500s in 02 still had the 5.9 option. it is not in the 06 brouchers i have seen and it is possible that the 6.1 is not type certified emission wise for suvs yet and hence the delay. -- posted using the http//www.autoforumz.com interface at authors request articles individually checked for conformance to usenet standards topic url http//www.autoforumz.com/dodge-hemi-engine-ftopict123741.html visit topic url to contact author reg. reqd. report abuse http//www.autoforumz.com/eform.phpp=602529 .

how do you know where or what i live on from your message header message-id limpe.29$hk.20509@twister.southeast.rr.com date thu 09 jun 2005 004531 gmt nntp-posting-host 66.57.115.196 x-complaints-to abuse@rr.com x-trace twister.southeast.rr.com 1118277931 66.57.115.196 wed 08 jun 2005 204531 edt nntp-posting-date wed 08 jun 2005 204531 edt organization roadrunner - triad southeast road runner would put you in the south east. i question your confidence not where you drive. if youre afraid to set up a simple trailer brake maybe you ought not try to tackle the more complicated stuff like actually towing. it has nothing to do with confidence or a simple setup. i am making certain that i understand the settings and boost before pulling 10000 pounds on grades youve most likely never imagined existed on public roads. maybe you should try either being helpful keeping quiet or something beyond being a pompous ass. i think i was being helpful. i was pointing out that your questions have been answered several different ways. you may not like my methods but there they are. i am in the southeast and where i live has the little hills you speak of. i have however pulled 10000# plus trailers to both sides of this country including the rockies. maybe not to the grande mountainous treacherous terrain you speak of but that doesnt change the difficulty of the trailer brake adjustment. all i did was make an observation to the thread and that you seem to making this too difficult. claypompous ass and proud of it .

the man made a reasonable comment nate. you seem to be the one actin like a pompous ass. when you see me offer anything beyond a helpful response to a realistic on topic question your statement may mean something. im new to the boost feature and dont find anything unreasonable in my questions. there are no dumb questions only dumb ass responses from judgemental pricks that want to elevate themselves by stepping on others. -- nathan w. collier http//7slotgrille.com http//utilityoffroad.com .

my 99 2500 has that spacer ring on the right side too. whats the purpose of that to move the wheel out a bit and to counteract a tendency to pull while braking. i ran my 2500 both with and without that spacer and i wasnt able to feel any significant difference either way. .
From : tom lawrence
and yes - my 99 2500 also had the 1/8 spacer ring on the right side. i dont believe this applied to the 1/2-ton trucks. my 99 2500 has that spacer ring on the right side too. whats the purpose of that .

tbone wrote iirc the problem with using high octane fuel stems from the computer. it seems that the longer burn time of higher octane fuel fools the computer into thinking that the engine is running rich and causes it to lean the engine out. running lean itself is not a particularly good thing for the engine and will be reflected in a loss of power not to mention heat which could cause detonation another bad thing for the engine. this could not be further from the truth and does not warrant further comment. and those that cannot or do not explain there answers are usually full of shit. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .
