youre forgetting the tv cable a large throttle input at low road speed is the classic scenario for a delayed upshift. not forgetting it at all. if the tv cable were out of adjustment it would happen all the time not just select incidents as the op infers. second it wouldnt happen suddenly as the op mentions unless something broke and then the problem would be constant not selective. further if the cable broke or stretched the shifts would be too soon. sorry ill stick to checking codes then looking for physical damage. -- max join www.devilbrad.com and find out what free exchange of info is all about. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author max dodges max crap. engine tune has everything to do with it because a detuned engine requires more throttle for the same output. while you are correct that a detuned engine may require more throttle the pcm isnt looking for just tps or just rpm. as such the state of engine tune has little effect since the tps and rpm inputs vary independent of one another. this produces an infinite number of possible combinations that the pcm would see. that infinite number of combinations is possible with or without a well tuned engine. youre forgetting the tv cable a large throttle input at low road speed is the classic scenario for a delayed upshift. .

on 16 aug 2006 082523 -0700 jonanddacia jonanddacia@gmail.com wrote sqdancerlynn wrote since the dome light is always hot i would think some thing is shorted in that circuit. it could also cause the dead battery. your going to need a wiring diagram. since the radio was crapping out i would disconnect it & see if the fuse still blows. or the radio could have been quitting because of the short have to start somewhere! okay so my interior is in a million pieces we have unplugged everything and it is still popping the int fuse i agree about the dome light well check that after work today thanks for the help any other ideas if you are able use a digital multimeter $5-$8 from harbor freight try measuring the resistance with the battery disconnected from the fuse connector to the frame and see if it is a true short approx. 1-5 ohms or a higher value. then compare that reading with the resistance from the dome light to the frame the reading in ohms that is lower should be closer to where the actual short is at in the harness. if they are about the same and are a very low value there should be something obvious in that part of the harness or one of the harness connectors touching the frame. make sure your meter has a fresh battery to prevent inaccurate readings. how long does it take to blow the fuse instantly or does it take a few seconds i often use a straight pin soldered to one of the meter leads to pierce the insulation of suspect wiring without damaging it permanently the lower the resistance to the frame the closer to the short you are and conversely if the resistance is going up as you check the distribution from the fuse you are going away from the short of course. good luck joe. .

thanks bryan i have 115 v at the startmotor + connection and the motorblock as ground.. the cables is not the freshest and i have removed tha startmotor and charging the battery. im thinking that the battery is not being charged as it should i have had electrical problem half a year ago. also the relay for the startmotor is to be checked electrical problem sucks.. not so easy to see where it is.. // mattias also check the condition of the battery cables. cut back a little insulation on the negative cable at the post mount and if you see any powder and greenish corrosion on the copper wires replace the cables. ive had bad cables give me starting problems before. hd .

recently read an old posting about a 99 dodge 1500-- 318--auto--4-wdso here we go abs light is on brake light is on speedometer wont register till about 30mph and idles poorly now i have already checked basic connections installed a new ops and a new pcm did i miss somthing oh yea somtimes at acceleration the trans. feels jerky any ideas the old posting that i read didnt post the end results. thanks in advance .
