on nov 30 602 pm tom lawrence tnloaswpraemnmcie...@earthlink.net wrote im having trouble getting into od.i have one step bigger tires than stock.i brought it to the shop and they told me that they cannot correct the problem with the bigger tiresthey cannot adjust the ecm can you change speedometer gearsor do i have to put the tires back to stockthe tires arent your problem. my 95 3500 ran 215/75r16s originally 29 tires. i ran 255/85r16s almost 33 for most of its life currently run 235/85r16s - still larger than stock and never had any issues. whats specifically the problem with the transmission have they determined that the ecm is just not activating the od solenoid or is the ecm commanding o/d but the transmission isnt cooperating have they ruled out the tps brake light switch have they tried wiring in a switch to force the transmission into od and therefore rule out anything in the transmission as the problem or did they take one look at your tires and decide that must be the problem they kinda looked at the tire size and said that they cannot test it to factory spects with the bigger tires.i had 245/75r16 and went to 265/75r16.but guess whatdoing some research on the internet told me what might be the problemif it works i will be glad to share.im also going to check with this speedo co for a different speedo gear. to match the speed sensor with the gears.thanks for your input i will check those other items. .

with the check engine light it is probably going into the fail safe mode. if the light is on take it to auto zone or some place that can read the codes. i had problem simillar but different on my 98 ram van. i would step on it hard & the check engine light would come on -- had to replace o2 sensor cant do anything without the code!!! post back with codes .

in order to get either fuel to combust it has to first be vaporized. in a gas engine its ignited by spark. and in a diesel by compression. but both fuels have to be vaporized to work. gasoline is a lot easier vaporized and so id expect problems with early ignition and who knows what else. cylinder damage. i dont believe that combusted through heat and compression is the opposite of neeing to be vaporized. diesel also needs to be vaporized. no. diesel is sprayed into a fine mist combined with air to be compressed. sorta like wheat or rice in a processing plant. the individual pieces of rice or wheat does not burn very well but once processing starts and makes a lot of dust combined with air makes a very volatile product. gasoline is heated into a vapor. that is why in the good ol days that gasoline engines did not work well when cold. the gasoline was not being vaporiaed very well. -- christopher a. young you cant shout down a troll. you have to starve them. . it means adding gasoline to diesel vehicle makes the fuel less combustable under compression. diesel is combusted through heat and compression while gasoline is the opposite needing to be in a vapor to get better ignition. diesel has cetane while gasoline has octane. those products are inversive to each other. .

jon wrote roy wrote it would seem that our do nothing mia gov is serious about running for president. he has to have been the most ineffective person we have had in that position. well put -- he makes dukakis look like a champ! boy i disagree with that! miracle of massachusetts romney hasnt done too bad given he has no ability to do anything that the nearly fully democratic legislature doesnt want. he hasnt done a damn thing! he didnt move on the big dig until the friggin roof fell and killed that girl. he has been out of state more than he has been here. i guess that would explain why he has done nothing. i cant believe ma has had republican governors all this time since dukakis! a fully democratic federal delegation of senators and reps and i think about 27 or 29 republicans in a 200+ member legislature. why republican governors now there wont be a republican governor to blame for everything that goes wrong. the legislature may want romney back. he cant win the prez though. just what the nation isnt too inclined to accept yet another presidential candidate from massachusetts! look at the beating his lt. gov. took in her race for gov.. she couldnt

rauldejesus@gmail.com wrote i have an aluminum truck tool box in my truck bed and i was wondering if it is ok to store a 1 gallon plastic blitz gas can in it. the box isnt completely air tight and there should be enough ventalation but i was wondering if there was some danger of explosion due to heat. has anybody else stored gas in their truck box more importantly are they still alive raul of course anything is possible. that being said firetrucks i am a retired firefighter have carried gasoline tools and gas cans in compartments that arent necessarily vented and i have never heard of an explosion. that doesnt mean that it has ever happened or that you could be the first. - if you take precautions you should be ok. dont fill the can to its maximum because the gas will expand and possibly overflow into the compartment in hot weather. dont be smoking when you open a compartment. with the box being aluminum there is little chance opening it will cause a spark. use common sense. hank .
