tbone wrote why not a person with a bigger house than you in your area pays more taxes than you do. why shouldnt a person with more cars then they need not do so as well not in all states really which ones and who determines how many cars i need .......... you indirectly yes me and the rest of the society that you live in. if you really need or just want them then you shouldnt mind paying a small tax for privilege and if you dont then the tax is good encouragement to get rid of them and clean up your neighborhood and also helps pay for the enforcement of some of the white trash laws mentioned above. well why stop at cars then if you own a boat tax it unless it is used to earn a living. no one really needs a motorcycle. tax it. four wheeler or god forbid a motorhome double tax it. these are all a privilege by your definition. .

on sun 22 feb 2004 214124 -0600 remove to here@previous.com wrote i have a 1963 hawk motor home on a dodge chassis. i think it is on a one ton. single drive axle dual wheels. in my army days in the early 70s i did quite a few services on heavy trucks and it seems like those 5 tons were set up like this dodge ie the rear wheel bearings ran in differential oil. i seem to remember that we packed the bearings in axle grease anyway. should the bearings be packed right now they dont appear to have axle grease in them. and are undamaged. they are designed to run in oil. if aint broke dont fix it. second question can someone tell me what the wheel bearings should be adjusted too tighten nut gently with wrench until there is no play then back off till just loose then tighten with fingers only and back off until the kotter key will go in. too much preload will eat bearings. also need to know about the front wheel adjustments. rear wheels are held on with a double nut and index washer. i havent pulled the fronts yet. i can do a car or pickup bearing job in my sleep but its been a long time since i did a heavy truck. .

hello! i have 315*75-16 35*12.5-16 on my stock 1999 dodge 2500 cummins automatic. you feel some different yea but i like the big tires better than the original size. much because the change of the gear ratio. i am not hauling much but on daily driving i like bigger tire best. when my speedometer show 70km/t my truck are actually going in 80km/t. you have the od/off buttom if you meet some hills. superlift have a speedo calibrater i would like to test. it is said to change the gear shift points too. have any of you tryed it best regards from norway. trey treydog90spam@hotmail.com skrev i melding if you get larger tires then get a different gear ratio in the diffs to compensate. that way your speedo will be more accurate after the tire swap too. also make sure and adjust your headlights after you level the truck. its a fix-it ticket if you piss off a cop with your lights glairing everyone. and not to mention just rude to the drivers you tailgate. looking to up grade to 34.5 in tires on my new 2500. 4x4 .will be adding a rancho 2 leveling kit. i was told not to go to such a large tire because the tranny will kept shifting up and down when pulling mountain grades. i dont want to add any more aftermarket add ons. the tires are bfg 315/70r/17. my other option is 285/70r 17. the truck sits so high the 285 looks too small. there would be no leveling kit with the 285s. any thoughts. thanks jd wheels are chrome american racing. .
