is there a website that anyone knows of where i can check my 2000 dakota p/u or do i just call daimler canada mopar man wrote about premature wear and failure of upper ball joints in durango/dakota. its about time dc did something about this. problem is seems it should include 96-99 vehicles as well. i remember a paper article about a guy that went to dc to get them to repair the dammage caused by a wheel that flipped out because it came out of the ball joint. i think at first dcx refused then they said they would if signed an agreement that he would never publicize the incident. he refused and had a private garage repair it and then he went public. dc definately gets a black eye over this one. so much for customer service... whats even worse is some idiot on this group defended the ball joints... i had to replace mine 3 times on my 98 durango. i sold the durango and got a 2003 4 runner. 0 problems for the two years that i owned it. .

maxpower wrote hey bob if your truck is pinging you may want to get this flash done its a reprogram of the pcm for spark knock tsb 18-006-01 reva it would be covered under warranty the extended emissions warranty for 999 months glenn beasley chrysler tech ramman@dodgecity.cc wrote i thought about that but ive read here that the flash actually robs the truck of power. after switching to chevron the truck doesnt ping anymore. but thanks for the info. bob .

ramman@dodgecity.cc wrote damnnickname@yahoo.com writes when i say fuel related i dont mean what the supplier delivers im refering to what is at the bottom of the tanks in the ground that you purchased it from water sediment and all that crap i always make it a habbit to not purchase fuel from a facility that has the tanker there filling up the in ground tanks all that does is stir up the trash at the bottom for you to put in your tank that makes sense. at consistently 810 under the competition you can probably imagine the volume this guy sells. frequently on mondays when i fill up half of his pumps have plastic bags over the 87-octane nozzle and the others are flowing *really* slow probably almost out too. still i have to wonder why are some of his pumps completely out of regular and others on a different island -not- out maybe he has multiple underground tanks for the same grade. thats the only thing that would explain it. i think we may have actually hit on something here. i dont know if im going to get a chance to work on the truck this weekend or not but i think ill start running some chevron or exxon through it and see if theres any improvement. cant hurt and what the hell its only money. i know my 01 ram 5.2l auto started to ping on quick trip 87 octane. i switched to phillips 66 87 octane and the pinging continued as well as rough idle when cold. i read here about chevron and how is was recommended. for the last year ive been using chevron 87 octane and the rough idle at cold is gone as well as the pinging. i pay a little more for chevron but to me its worth it. i have always used a fuel injection cleaner at every oil change. bob .

the big deal is not dropping the tank the big deal is the fact that it is a one piece steel line that runs from the back to the injectors alot is involved to replace it you have to remove things to route the line properly you should be able to still get this line thru your local dealer i would go that route sonds to me that he is talking about the rubber line between the hard line and the tank. probably the return line it is well known for going south. roy .
