Tuning for Economy (second try)?
From : exoticscales com
Q: lee wrote well i did check the battery connection to the started and it was corroded. i cleaned that up and the truck started. unfortunately this morning it popped the fuse again. it is good to know though they have a bad design with that boot and the angle it sets. any moisture kicked up on the started can run into that boot. over time i can definitely see how thatd be an issue. on a related note. as i was looking at the starter it appeared you could unbolt the solenoid from it. is that true could i replace just the solenoid or is it a part of the overall starter unit you can get an improved solenoid rebuild kit from http//www.fostertruck.com/dodge/ for $34.95. instructions can be seen at http//www.fostertruck.com/contactsinstall.htm . it looks like a very simple installation. also on this website there is mention of the fuel shutoff solenoid in the starter faq section. this may be causing your fuse to blow too. .

is this normal behavior or do i need to take it in yep - those grid heaters pull upwards of 100a. when that happens the voltage output of the electrical system drops a bit and you notice the lights dimming. this is one of the conditions where a dealership could truthfully tell you they all do that .
