Truck or passenger car tires on Dakota?

Q: the free check tells you nothing. the report costs at least $20 bill i found this article at http//autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/collectorcarcentral/ and i thought it might be helpful with all the jerks trying to sell flood damaged cars. thanks earl in this edition of tech revving we are going to look at a very timely topic. flooded cars. with the 2 major hurricanes that hit the gulf coast region there has been wide spread flooding. though the official numbers arent in yet you can bet that there will be many ten thousands to one hundred thousands of cars that were caught in the flood waters. while most of these cars will be towed and scrapped by the insurance companies many of them will be sold and some will be sold by unscrupulous dealers who dont let the customer know the car was involved in a flood. in this article we will look at how to identify a flooded car what to do with one and what happens when a car is caught in a flood. one of the first steps is to run a vin code report on the car. if and only if the car went through an insurance claim then there is a possibility that it will show up on this report. you can run a free vin check on our website at http//www.westcoastsportscars.com/brittonliquidation.html however a vin check is only the first step. physical inspection of the car is the most crucial point. only use the vin as a first step to weed out unnecessary physical inspection trips. .

i have 15000 on my wranglers 2004 dakota quad cab 4x2 and they hardly look like theyve been used. i expect at least 40000 at this rate. i cant say how they handle in snow or ice because i havent seen any in this part of oklahoma since i got the truck. jph gary k. wrote i hope youre wrong as i just bought two new goodyears. the other two i think will make it through the winter. could there be different versions of goodyears put on new dodges mine is a club cab 4x4 dakota used mostly on the highway. gary k. conn. on 6 oct 2005 014610 gmt gary k. grkohler@attglobal.net wrote im just now replacing the original equipment tires on my 2001 dakota at 49000. if winter werent coming on id wait another 6 months. gary k. conn. the only advantage to goodyear tires is you will have to buy another set in about 15-20k. absolute shit. my last 3 new dodges all had goodyear tires and all had to be replaced at around 15k. if you want a good tire go with a bfg. just my personal thought on this. mjp. posted via uncensored-.com - accounts starting at $6.95 - http//www.uncensored-.com the worlds uncensored source .

thanks to all that recommended tirerack.com for ordering tires. it took less than a month to deliver my 4 michelin ltx m/s tires. ive visually checked the tires over sidewalls are smooth - no bulges or pits or anything nothing obvious on the tread... is there anything else in particular i should look for in the way of defects or shipping damage they just slap some tape and a couple of ties around each pair of tires arent shipped in a box or anything. before you install them id check the date of manufacture...you should be able to find instructions on how to decipher the date code online. i wouldnt want to install tires that were already a couple of years old. .

seeing as it has been slow around here i figured this might wake it up a bit. seems that the 06 viper is 7 10ths. slower and 9 mph slower than the corvette z06 in the quarter mile. one place the viper did beat the corvette was price. viper cost approx 35k more. if ya want to talk out your ass how about a hi-point 9mm carbine will out shoot your bushmaster......and do it at about 1/5th the price....... denny yup it is a short money. guess it all comes down to personal preference. oh read motor trend and get back to me. g roy .

you know along those lines the duramax for 06 is getting a substantial horsepower and torque increase. supposed to be the most powerful diesel in productions for a light duty truck. seeing as it has been slow around here i figured this might wake it up a bit. seems that the 06 viper is 7 10ths. slower and 9 mph slower than the corvette z06 in the quarter mile. one place the viper did beat the corvette was price. viper cost approx 35k more. these tests were not done at the same location or same time or by the same drive but are a pretty good indication of what is to come. bud drop in and say hello. roy .

seem to recall that there were two abs systems available on the 99s can anyone refresh my memory on the systems that were available...was one a two wheel system and the other a full four wheel system yes - standard was the rear-wheel anti-lock or rwal. this uses a single rear-wheel speed sensor and upon impending lockup it restricts the pressure to the rear brakes. if that doesnt correct the problem the rwal dump valve kicks in which dumps pressure from the rear system. this has the net effect of feeling like the brakes let go and isnt very pleasant. the optional 4-wheel abs system adds a sensor at each front wheel and a pump. whenver wheel slippage is detected the abs pump kicks in which quickly applies/releases hydraulic pressure on both front and rear systems. the net effect is slightly reduced braking effectiveness but is much more controllable than the rwal system. .
