i have an 04 3500 cummins srw 4x2... i find the ride empty and loaded to be a lot smoother than my 1500 dodge 4x2 and a much more comfortable ride as far as steering etc. on the hiway... no drifting at all... m. better truck = better ride. -- moparman---remove clothes to reply! --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- .

do the ton trucks srw ride really rough i spose you havent thought about actually driving one before you plunk down 30+k but then that would be covering all the options as you stated politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

pretty much the way i worked mine but since it was a 4x4 even when the overloads were removed and it was empty it destroyed internal body parts. it was one damn tough truck though. jerry lol yep they certainly are still tough amazingly tough trucks politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

for my personal use i went with the helwig progressive overloads except i would leave the end shackles spring shop made a longer set for me off when not towing or carrying the camper. this was on a 1989 dodge cummins 3/4 ton. i have a friend who had a 1990 1 ton single rear wheel 4 by dodge cummins it had overloads on itwhether they were factory or aftermarket i have no idea. he also had a 1973 or so 11 1/2 foot camper that must have weighed 4500 pounds loaded or maybe it just seemed that way. the overloads also had some kind of an adjustment deal. hed put the camper on and i would take a floor jack put it under the hitch ball mount and jack it up to ride height then adjust the overloads to stay at that height. truck actually rode pretty decent that way. empty you didnt want to ride in it without your kidney belt with that setting politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

all i can judge it by is my friends f-250 jerry... he fills them he prefers separate fillers for each bag to about 18 psi when pulling his 5er and about 4 psi empty... ive ridden in his truck a few times and it does seem to ride a lot it seems like each truck is a different deal. ive have a friend who has a 1993 dodge 3/4 ton cummins 2 wheel drive extended cab. it rides fairly smooth empty no sharp bumping or anything uncivilized. in fact it rides a lot like my 1975 1/2 ton dodge pickup with helper spings on the rear firm but not bouncy as in the 4 by dodges of the same era that make you think the wheels are bolted directly to the frame from my limited ford experience they never had the dodge ride ford and chevy always were and are more civilized much as the newer dodges are when you have to hook up your 4000 pound enclosed car trailer put the race car in and all the stuff to go racing for 4 days just to be able to drink a cup of coffee while driving your dodge 1 ton you know it has a stiff suspension bg politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .
