Tires for 1999 Ram 2500 QC

Q: hi i have 50k on my original tires which are michelin xlts. they have developed a strange wear pattern and create a rumbling noise on the highway. not much tread left. the specs recommend lt245/75r16 for size. is there a benefit of going to 265 size tire i have the 4.10 rear and would think it could give me slightly better gas mileage. also how do you go about recalibrating the speedometer. what do people think of the goodyear ats. http//tires2.digiknow.com/goodyear/displaytire.jspprodline=wrangler+at%2fs&mrktarea=light+truck&size=lt245%2f75r16%2fe&sidewall=bsl any opinions appreciated. thanks tom .

if you have a gasser it may get better or it may get worse since the larger tires may make the engine work harder if its a diesel it wont care one way or the other not much tread left. the specs recommend lt245/75r16 for size. is there a benefit of going to 265 size tire i have the 4.10 rear and would think it could give me slightly better gas mileage. ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .
