i have no horn no headlights no parking lights radio display resets at every start and during driving and dome light flickers when door is open. i have brake lights signal lights and reverse lights wipers etc. great vehicle for daytime driving but with safety inspection coming due they tend to be rather particular about lights. help! .

btw disconnecting the battery will not clear a code in obd 11. my vehicle is a 97 dodge ram 1500 115000 miles..recently had a complete tune up including transmission fluid/filter change. the check engine light comes on for about 1 day and a half and then all of a sudden on a random engine start it goes out. its been doing this for about 2 months where the light will come on unexpectedly while dring then stay on thorugh 3-4 engine starts then all of a sudden on the next engine start not come on. i thought the check engine light is suppose to stay on until the problem is fixed or the batter is disconnected. .

can someone tell me where the connector is for an electric trailer brake controller on a 05 ram the owners manual states that it is located under the dash to the left of the brake pedal. it is discrebed as a blue 4 pin connector. i have the female connector that was supplied in a bag with the truck but ill be darned if i can find any connector that it mates up with. the other thing i dont understand is in the om the last sentence regarding the location of the connector it states that the connector maybe optional on vehicles with the trailer prep package which i have. i was able to find the switch box for the brake lights on a bracket attached to the brake pedal. shouldnt that 4 pin blue connector be attached to that same wiring somewhere on my o5 3500 its right next to the arm of the emergency brake. there one large wire harness with a white cover over it. to the left of that and attached to the same wiring block is two smaller female connectors the lower one is the trailer hook up. if you ran your own blue wire from the controller rear 7 pin connector to the cab make sure you cut the blue wire in the truck harness and splice it into the 4 pin connector we are talking about there. -- moparman---remove clothes to reply! --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- .

moparman wrote im watching on dishnet this morning a fishing show from mo-bridge. it;s the place where sitting bull is buried. yanqui fishermen are funny. heres a small part of the conversation in the boat. quote and unquote yourself fisherman 1 yanqui-from dakota yfd says this lake is full of walley 2yfd says yes this lake is full of walley. 15 minutes of catching walleye insues 1yfd says oh i think its a big one hes using an ultra light rig that a texas black crappie would break like a matchstick 2yfd says do you think its a walley 1yfd says it sure acts like a walley 2yfd it sure is bending the pole like a walley 1yfd yep i bet its a walley 2yfd yep probably is a walley. after 3 minutes of fighting the mystery lunker the line breaks 1yfd oh 2yfd-oh did your line break duh! 1yfd i think so 2yfd-i wonder if it was a walleye..........and yall thought rednecks from texas were boring. i cant believe they let this crap on tv. besides fishing for walleye is texas is best done with 5 pounds of dynomite. less talk and more action. now where did i put my solor powered electric fillet knife its mobridge--one word. actually went there last summer but did not fish. there is a very nice cg there called kountry kabins and the owners are quite hospitable. $17 per night for full hookup pullthrough. they allowed us to receive our mail there. the sitting bull memorial is quite interesting and right next to a sacagawea monument. there is a neat museum in town called the klien museum that has an amazing display of ladies hats grouped by color as well as quite a lot of sitting bull stuff and othere interesting things. the town arena is supposed to have nice murals but its closed on weekends and we missed it. there ive made an rv post out of it!! g im pretty sure rving fishing and dodge trucks are the same noosegroop. i thought certain things were always certain while other things certainly arent. -- moparman---remove clothes to reply! --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- .

a couple of days ago we picked up 6. more supposedly wed -fri. put the strobes in yesterday. no matter how many times i do this it is a big friggin pia. the 05s dont leave much room to drill a hole in the back up light. i need 1 hole and barely made it. six lights all had to be waterproofed then wires snaked back along the frame rails to under the drivers side seat. even with ps there was more room to mount the power supply than under the passenger. anyway got it all finished turned them all on and found i could not run the fronts and rears together. on two switches and one would cancel out the other. we went over the wiring for a couple of hours to no avail. figure it is the power supply. ill mess with it next weekend. i dont often run the fronts due to the reflection off the snow so the rears will be fine. roy strobes make the ole lady ride along with a couple of flares........ denny .

dakota2112 dakota2112@yahoo.com writes im curious... how many miles have people been getting out of their clutches specifically in dakota trucks i have a 97 dakota cc v6 5 speed 2 wheel drive 3.21 gears bought new off the lot. my original clutch has made it to 150000 miles. mostly highway i dont tow often and i usually drive with utmost respect for my clutch disk by minimizing slippage during clutch operation. i have never noticed any change in the clutch pedal and i have never smelled any burning clutch... but i know its only a matter of time before i do. any ideas how many miles these clutches can realistically last if treated reasonably youve apparently babied your dakota far moreso than most would. somewhere i once read that the average life expectancy of the clutch disk is around 80100k miles. of course this varies with conditions and driving habits. when my eldest son started driving we put 3 clutches in his 67 camaro in a period of 3 years. im guessing wed likely have put in a 4th but he totalled it. we were on our 2nd clutch in my wifes 78 vette when we finally sold it in 95 with 62k on the clock. all depends on how its driven. my neighbors 1995 neon has 280k on his original clutch .

just bought a 2003 4.7l dodge ram with 60k miles. it used a quart of oil in the first 1000 miles i put on it. should i be concerned i bought a chrysler extended warranty so i am thinking about taking it in to the dealer and having them check it out. however i suspect they will say it is normal and i will end up wasting my time. anybody have experience with high oil consumption on the 4.7l engine ive got an 03 ram with the 4.7. im changing my oil every 3 months which is only at about 1500 miles as per the severe duty interval and my engine is not using any oil. i only have about 10k on it though. hd that really is just wasting money. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving maybe so but that plastic wrapped book thingy in the glove box states that if you have frequent trips under 10 miles you are in the severe duty category. severe duty calls for every 3 months or 3k miles whichever comes first. i drive 4 miles to and back from work not much anywhere else thus the low milage on my rig. i would guess that the frequent oil change is required due to condensation that can occur in the engine if it doesnt get fully warmed up. i bought my truck because of the 7/70 warranty and dont plan on giving dc a reason not to honor it. hd .
