Time to change the starter
From : geekboy
Q: geekboy wrote i got to change the starter on my 2000 ctd. taking a peek underneath on what tools i will be needing i see unfamilair bolts holding the starter in place. they look like male torx bits. what are these called so when i go looking for tools to remove them thanks. gb i would think that if they look like torx bits they prob are as there are sizes ranging from t-8 to t-55. unless dodge/cummins uses a special bolt. .

bright red we call her bart big assed red truck its now 2 years old i put 65k on it pulling a 15k 5th wheeler all over this country. only 15k when its rated for 19k ;- and i still got a smile on my face i cant get off when passing them fords going up a mountain and the ole ford is pumping fuel outta the exhaust pipe..... -- i do have reservations when cummins comes out with the v8. the ford and gmc izusu really dont compare. it seems straight cylinder engines have had a good history for being reliable and producing more torque. both the ford and chevy gasoline straight sixes were very good long lasting engines... i guess the v8 stuff is for marketing and fad. ------moparman------ ---signature pending yet another assine comment by mianderson--- .

tobe wrote this is a long shot but i thought i would ask... i have a 99 ctd with 5-speed. when pulling away from a stop there is a momentary rattle coming from somewhere under the hood sounds like it is right behind or near the firewall on drivers side. the sound is not real loud but it is noticeable. it sounds as though the engine is torquing over and causing something to hit. it disappears quickly once the truck gets moving. i have yet to spot any marks where anything is rubbing/hitting the motor mounts seem to be ok and i cant get it to make the noise by loading the clutch while the vehicle is stationary. ive never had a clutch chatter on me before so i dont know if it could be a clutch/pressure plate wearing out but it doent make any noise up/down shifting and doesnt feel as though the clutch is engaging roughly nor does it sound quite like what i imagine it would. for some reason i cant seem to convince anyone to ride under the hood and listen for the noise when pulling away from a stop so my long-shot question is... is the rattle a common/known problem please no its a diesel its supposed to rattle answers thanks. have you looked the whole truck over or just under the hood i have a 99 3500 diesel that had a weird rattle at exactly 1200rpm. anything over or under it would not do it. it sounded like the noise was coming from the engine. i looked all under the hood thinking to find something loose and could find nothing wrong. it wasnt until a week later i climbed under the truck to grease the front and found an exhaust clamp rusted loose and dangling on the pipe right under the cab. i removed the clamp and thus removed my engine rattle. .

budd cochran wrote and so what a few months ago i decided to quit playing a being a christian shall we say and devote my life completely to god. thats the difference that you cant accept. god never told you to shove your friends away simply because they dont put up with your crap. nor did he tell my friends to reject me for my commitment to him. and that isnt what is happening. what is happening is that you are using your new calimed religous belief to act like a complete asshole. you seem to think that you can say and do whatever you want and if anyone calls you on it you hide behind a load of crap you call gods will. i know that the truth is that you are just a bitter old man that didnt do as well as you wanted to in life which is obvious by your blaming the liberals for everything bad that has happened to you and the rest of the world and feel the need to strike out. ysing the lord as a shield to act this way is a sad thing. whatever you want to believe tom. . . . nobody here has told you to change your religious views. no youre right none here did but god did through conviction of my soul. i doubt it. its more like an easy excuse to be an ass. has god ever convicted you of your sins if not then you couldnt know. theyve only asked you to respect theirs if you want them to respect yours. thats the rub no one is respecting my beliefs and all want me to revert back to the way i was. nope aint gonna happen. there is a big difference between giving up your beliefs and using then to act like an ass. all that anyone wants you to do is be more like you were with respect to others. the funny thing is that you really have not changed all that much. the only real difference is that now you treat everyone the same way and use religion as an excuse for doing it. re-read that again tom you make zero sense. if ive not changed then why the fuss this thread began as just info for you on a topic i knew you had an interest in. yet you and the others in spite of the fact ken nosey admitted to accidentally bringing religion into it for which he apologized have deliberately kept up the rants over my beliefs. why thats a concept that you have said you do not give a damn about because it doesnt fit your religion. no youre either wrong or you misunderstood me but then thats what it has been from the start. the the entire group has misunderstood you. get it yet oh my i keep forgetting how you are the official spokesman for everyone self-appointed and self-gratifying. . . . . what a warped messed up religion you have if thats the case. how would you know the disciples were all martyred for their faith why should i beany less zealous nice spin budd but far from the truth. if the disciples acted the way you currently are this would be a forgotten religion as noboby would want to be bothered with it or the people acting the way you currenty are. where you there dr. luke was with paul and he wrote the book of acts. the disciples left us histories reported by secular historians of the trouble they supposedly caused the accusations of treason and riotousness. the only ones i see complaining are the same old ones you roy theguy tom lawrence and larry . . . if christianity were outlawed tomorrow as some of you hope for i want to be on the number one most wanted poster. more complete crap. to you probably. but it is predicted in the bible the day will come that christianity will be outlawed under the rule of the anti-christ. youve totally hijacked christianity to a rather radical extreme. no christianity as compared to what it was in the time of christ is a watered down corrupted shadow of its former self. most denominations teach works to earn salvation instead of grace most hide the light of the world the christ under a bushel most teach that a good christian hides in a corner and never says anything to disturb the masses. really which ones it sounds to me more like you can attract more with honey than with vinegar and that is what you are using. if the only way to heaven is thru christ then people like you who turn people away are truly doing the devils work. any non-fundamental church that changes adds or subtracts from the salvation plan or the bible or any pseudo-christian cult. if youre not looking for something better spiritually you wont find it and you may even reject it if it does happen to come your way. its called free will. next thing youll be doing is forcing flowers to people in airports. that would be the hari-krishnas who are doing that in order to earn their place in their idea of heaven. which is far more than you are accomplishing. thats the difference my place in heaven is guaranteed even if i died a split second after my conversion. the thief on the cross beside jesus never got to go do any works to earn his salvation yet
